A WIT's Guide to: Sittin' in the city

I’m lucky enough to have two families I babysit for here in San Francisco who I absolutely adore. Not only are the kids darling and so cute and fun, the parents are great as well. But when I think back to how we found one another, it’s strange because it was so very different than how I’ve garnered babysitting jobs before. It was through the website SitterCity.com.

SitterCity is an incredible resource for those looking for babysitting jobs. Even more, the site has expanded to offer resources for those needing/wanting to do pet sitting and even tutoring. And, it’s entirely easy to use. I’ve found myself recommending it to people all the time actually.

Just log on and complete your profile so that parents looking for sitters know what they’re getting. Personally, I think the most important aspects are experience and location. While the site is not quite well enough known yet, I still loving it. You have to be proactive about reaching out to families that seem like good fits, but if you find a good fit, it’s completely worth your time.

I could not be happier with my families and I always look forward to spending time in a family’s home (so different than your own girly apartment- cozy in a different way) and getting to be around children- they’ve always brought me so much joy. Oh and the extra income doesn’t hurt either. There’s no better way to justify a WIT’s shopping extravaganzas!

p.s. my fab friend in Chicago, Angie, works there. Yet another reason SitterCity is great!
