Ooo la la…Lipcolor!

July 15, 2010

Earlier this year, mine & Andrea’s friend Julie was raving about how much she loves lipstick. I immediately reacted saying it seemed rather old fashioned. Well, I’m here to admit I was wrong as it was just a few weeks after that, as Andrea and I hit the tents at Bryant Park for Fashion Week that I was able to get my hands on what has fast become a staple for my pout: Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lipcolor. Julie was right in that lipstick totally makes a different in photos (See photo below. Crazy how different the very same lipstick looks on all of us in Vegas, right?!). You’ll now find me toting my Color Sensational lipcolors pretty much everywhere I go.

Maybelline’s lipstick has made me a lipstick lover and believer. Delivering high-resolution color and creamy comfort with a nurturing, creamy feel the lipcolor is enriched with unique, pure pigments that impart crisp color. Another great quality? Honey nectar is in the lipcolor to nourish your lips and make for easy application. Maybelline’s New York Color Sensational Lipcolor comes in 48 different shades, but I’m partial to Make Me Pink and Very Cherry.

I’ve been using Make Me Pink on a near-daily basis and at night our smacker secret? Topping it off with Benefit Cosmetics’ Ultra Shine gloss in Back to the Fuchsia. Here it is in action while in the oh-so-exotic locale of Mexico:

And can we please talk about how it retails for less than $8?! Amazing. Right up there with another Maybelline favorite of ours.

Insider trick: Apply your lipstick by starting in the center of your upper lip. Work from the center to the outer edges of your lip, following the contours of your mouth. Repeat the technique on your lower lip. Check out Maybelline’s video on application here, too!

Very Cherry in action, looking different on everyone
