fresh faced post-fitness

I’ve been trying to workout four times per week – a feat for me when it actually happens but in order to fit it in, it requires at least one morning session a week which means getting ready in under 30 minutes in a locker room without my usual supply of beauty products. That being said, I’ve figured out a five minute face that will leave you fresh-faced and feeling put-together without a whole lot of product.

  1. Benefit Posietint (for cheeks and lips)
  2. BareMinerals Ready Foundation
  3. Dior Mascara
  4. Dior Brow pencil
  5. Benefit Dallas (brush on over Posietint on your cheek bones)

I hope you had an enjoyable weekend! I have a short work week as I’m heading home to Chicago on Thursday- hooray!

March is a month full of travel for me. First was Miami and next week I head home to Chicago for a long weekend and then I’ll be ending the month in D.C. for Easter weekend. I’m so excited but it had me thinking I wanted to share my most recent travel essentials as it’s one of the questions I get most emailed to me.

  1. Maybelline ‘Make Me Pink’ lipstick: This has been my go-to shade for over three years and I’m still not sick of it. When you’re packing light I recommend picking one semi-neutral shade of lipstick to bring with you and leave the rest behind instead of having others weighing down your purse.
  2. Sultra travel dryer: That feeling when you get to a hotel and they have one of those tiny, awful dryers that won’t get even close to drying your hair? Well avoid that situation entirely by bringing this powerful little travel dryer with you. (I’m a big fan of all Sultra products, by the way). It’s small and lightweight but effective.
  3. Tieks flats: These ballet flats are game changers. Unbelievably comfortable, they pack up neat and tidy meaning you can throw them in your purse to change into once your feet have had enough of your heels. They are also the perfect shoes to travel in. Hello, airport walking!
  4. Friends Layla headphones: These headphones step up the game of listening to music by being ultra chic and stylish but lightweight enough to have in your carry-on.

When it comes to beauty I’m a girl that appreciates instant gratification. I like when a mascara instantly does its job or a hair product goes in and completes your look. I also love when products give rewards like soothing or cooling and each of the above products has kind of a great tactile benefit.

  1. Amika Dry Shampoo: Not only clarifies hair and adds volume but has an amazing smell.
  2. Bare Minerals Loud and Clear lip balm*: Hydrating with just the most subtle of colors with a faint cooling effect upon application.
  3. Kiehl’s Rosa Arctica eye cream: Cooling around the thin skin of your eyes, I put this on right before bed to fight fine lines and wrinkles.
  4. Mario Badescu Cucumber Tonic mask*: This mask is all kinds of amazing. Ideal for oily skin like mine, it shrinks pores and leaves your skin feeling unbelievably tight and refreshed after use.
