When Rachel Bilson stepped out in the above combo, I was immediately struck by how chic she looked in her Erdem red pants and leopard pumps. As I’ve previously mentioned, I plan to get a pair of red, structured trousers this fall and now think I need a pair of leopard heels to pair with them. I’m loving the entire look below…what do you think?

Meghan and I are on the same wavelength when it comes to Cate in this beautifully crafted Givenchy (via Catwalk Queen). Although I’m not usually a fan of pastel colors, Cate pulls this off so well. I can’t think of any other person that can do it like Cate does.

And I have to give major props to Anne Hathaway and Rachel Zoe. Zoe and her team were able to put Anne in the best of the best (although I’m sure it wasn’t too difficult to convince designers to sign on), including Valentino, Givenchy, custom Lanvin tuxedo and custom Swarovski crystal-encrusted Brian Atwood satin pumps, custom Vivienne Westwood couture, Oscar de la Renta, Atelier Versace, Armani Prive and Tom Ford. Nothing but the best for the co-host of the Oscars!

I have a minor addiction to Tibi. And, admittedly, Olivia Palermo’s photos never get old to me. Her style just kills it. All.the.time. I have long loved seeing her in Tibi here and there so it was no surprise when the two paired up for their latest campaign. I’m in love with her pics from the spreads. So effortlessly chic, par normale.

And yes, we all know that Mary Kate has seen some pretty rough moments (comme ca), but there is no denying that they have killer style. Showcased most often now in their uber-successful lines, Elizabeth & James and The Row.

I recently came across this photo of Ashley Olsen and loved her disheveled, yet chic look that looked ideal for the type of weather we’ve been having in San Francisco as we start to dip into cooler weather, but can still get away with a pair of super high sandals.

I had the pleasure of attending a private screening of Nice Guy Johnny, a movie about a man torn between following through with his promises and following his heart. The film premiered at the prestigious 2010 Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year. The screening took place at Meet (At The Apartment), a charming meeting and gallery space. And some good food, great talent and a movie and we were good to go!

Director and screenwriter Edward Burns (Uncle Terry) and actress Kerry Bishé (Brooke) joined us to chat about the movie and answered questions from the audience. One question for Kerry was about her style, on and off the screen.

Kerry was her own stylist in Nice Guy Johnny, which gave her a great deal of freedom. When asked if her personal style was similar to that of her movie characters’, she said yes, “although Brooke’s style is a bit more sporty”. Her favorite piece that she wore in the movie was a thrifted yellow sweater, one that became more beat up and tattered along the way. But Kerry is a jeans and a t-shirt kind of girl. For this occasion, she did pick some cute pieces from Eskell. She wore a fun, flirty top, a printed skirt and pulled it out together with matching english saddle shoes and belt. Simple and effortless!

]]> There are certain designers I gravitate towards for their unique sense of style, ability to deliver something new and exciting each season, and when the designer themself feels relateable. Rebecca Minkoff is one of those designers (maybe it’s her cute tweets?). I’ve written about her maybe more than any other designer here on WIT & Whimsy and have had to miss her press presentations in New York so many times (damn geographical challenges) so I was thrilled when I was able to get in to see what she has in store for Spring 2011.

The presentation in The Box was packed, but showcased a collection that was fresh and modern, but did not stray from Rebecca’s signature aesthetic of hardware details, pretty neutrals and luxurious fabrics.

P.S- I must apologize for the grainy photos at the end as sadly my camera died just a few minutes into the show. Lame!

Rebecca Minkoff is not a designer I would normally think to go to for work wear, but this dress was my favorite piece of apparel she showed. Other pieces of hers also would pair beautifully with a pencil skirt.

What a great satchel, right? Also, it’s paired with my favorite pair of shoes from the upcoming debut shoe collection from Rebecca.


Actresses Michelle Trachtenberg and Shenea Grimes (who has been a guest blogger on the RM site, Minkette) came out to support Rebecca at the show
