Oh, this jacket. One by one several of the girls in my office got it. Then I wore it while Kiley was in town and she went out and bought it and the very next day, I spotted Grace wearing it. It makes me smile every time I go to don it. I’ve been wearing it often but when Kiley asked if we could both post how we styled it, I of course said yes. On Saturday I paired it with a mint blouse and my trusty rag + bone jeans (seriously the best denim) and I was ready to head to the MoMa.

No time like the present to stock up on affordable and easy dresses to slip on and pair with sandals for when the temperatures rise. I love the shape on this dress and the fact that it could be dressed down with a denim jacket or dressed up with a perfect pair of heeled sandals.

playing favorites 13: summer staples

I’m eyeing some key pieces to make my summer staples. Strappy sandals (wedges!), an easy, breezy dress, some shorts in a lightweight fabric and some new sunnies in a neutral color. In New York sometimes it gets too damn hot to even think about what you’re going to wear so the above ensures you have some easy options no matter the day of the week. And the prices ensure you’ll get loads of wear. Belt that dress and mix up tops you wear with those shirts.

Tibi Kaleidoscope tank

Despite the pouring rain in New York this morning, I am loving this cute and colorful tank from Tibi. The pattern is reminiscent of those cardboard kaleidoscopic we all used to have kids – remember? I’d pair it with white jeans and transition it into the fall by topping it with a blazer. I also love the dress in the same print!

playing favorites 12: kate spade saturday

Have you guys all checked out the new line by Kate Spade, Saturday? I personally hadn’t had a chance really until recently and I am in love with all the playful options for both clothing, accessories and home.

I’ve got my eye on this dress with cute cut-outs, this dress that is perfect for weekends, this colorful skirt, and these high-waisted shorts in orange. Not to mention the four items above/below. Wow, that’s a long list! Thankfully though the line is well-priced so you’ll most likely see me sporting some Saturday on several days of the week!

Styling two fun and playful pieces from the Chaps spring line today. I paired their versatile and bright pink cardigan with the denim capris for a laid back, Sunday look layered over an equally bright chartreuse tank. The cardigans are so soft and come in a multitude of bright colors perfect for pairing with floral dresses + tanks with skirts this season as well as layering over other bright pieces for an on-trend look.

Styled: The Otte Kay dress

As previously mentioned, Otte is one of my favorite places to shop in New York and online. They were kind enough to send me this most perfect spring into summer dress from their signature collection for my trip to Cabo last weekend (photo to come). The Kay dress has a slouchy fit making it extra comfortable and not only do I love this most perfect blue color, it also comes in a variety of other cute-as-candy colors. 100% silk it’s breezy and lightweight which is ideal for hot summers here in the city so I can’t come up with more ways to style it.

While in Mexico I styled it with turquoise accessories and now have my eye on this Rebecca Minkoff bag and a new pair of Dolce Vita sandals (my bff had them on the trip and now I’m convinced I need a new pair of gold sandals for the summer season) for the next time I don this dress.

I’m back from San Francisco & Mexico with sunshine on the brain and a desire for little flirty dresses lining my closet. This Alice + Olivia is topping my list with its playful cutouts, lightly brushed metallic fabric and crystal trimmed hook + eye closures. (Also love this one and this one!)
