For the holidays this year I’ll first head home to Chicago and then will be jetting off to Colorado. I’d like to think I could pull of some chic apres ski outfits, but let’s be honest…after being out on the slopes all day, it’s hardly possible to look and feel put-together but let’s just imagine I’m able to pull off some of the looks above, kk??

Styled 3 Ways: The Denim Vest

It’s no secret that I love layering my denim jacket over spring dresses (recent examples here, here and here).

However with the wild heat waves we’ve been having, wearing a sleeved jacket isn’t completely practical which is what has me loving a denim vest like this Topshop one. Layer one over pretty much any of your summer staples: a lightweight tee tucked in a mini skirt, a maxi dress or, a look I love even more is topping a dressier look with a vest for an edgier look for evening.

Outfit 1: As mentioned, I love that the moto vest pairs down a more dressed up little number. I’d go minimal makeup (but maybe a killer eyeliner look) and a small clutch (so in love with this PS1 Pochette) while paired with black cage heels for a night out- a rooftop soiree perhaps?

Outfit 2: Staying cool is my main objective these days so lightweight tanks (I love the ones from the T by Alexander Wang line) and skirts that transition from day to night are ideal.

Outfit 3: This is an ideal look for Saturday brunch or afternoon cocktails. Keep cool with an asymmetrical maxi, espadrilles and balance the vest with gold jewelry.

Combine 1 ounce denim cutoffs, 1 part tee and 1 cup white blazer. Optional: killer statement cuff.
