Me in One Week = Ski Bunny!

Me in One Week = Ski Bunny!

At this time next week I will be crusing down the slopes at Beaver Creek, Colorado with my girlfriends! Extreme excitement does not even begin to cover how I feel about this trip. Beaver Creek is heaven on earth if you ask me and I cannot wait for the snow, the views, the slopes, the hot-tubbing, the apres ski life, the cooking, the cocktails & bars in Vail…the list goes on & on.

The best part of a ski trip with your girlfriends? The time spent together. Sure, it’s not exactly easy on the purse strings, but it’s so worth it because we have been looking forward to this since September!

Are you planning to be snow-bound at all this winter? Have you already? What are your favorite traditions? I’d love to hear any and all recommendations on what you do with your WITs when you head for a weekend getaway!

I’ll be starting my packing this weekend and picking up some more essential gear for when a WIT goes ski-bunny. I can’t wait! This vacation is sooooo needed. And if you want to share in all the views as we are on the mountain be sure to follow me on twitter as I post photos! @meghandono

Calling All Suggestions: I'm Vegas Bound!

Calling All Suggestions: I'm Vegas Bound!

My girlfriends and I are jet-setting to Vegas for a reunion in March and I could not be more excited. (The fact that the Times nominated it the “Frugal Destination of the Year” has also managed to bury 90% of my guilt on spending the money for the trip which was wonderful.)

Here’s the caveat though. A girl can’t do Vegas without some standout Vegas dresses. So I’m taking all suggestions and would love to hear what you all think are good choices to take on the likes of Tao, Jet, etc. Woohoo! The only catch? The cost has to fit the occasion (aka: inexpensive, duh).

WIT Destination: Chicago!

WIT Destination: Chicago!

This WIT, while now settled in and calling San Francisco home, was originally from Chicago. I consider this Midwest city to be at the top of my list of favorites.

There’s something about Chicago that every WIT will take in and just love. If you haven’t been, I highly recommend it as a destination for a WIT trip. You won’t regret it. From the impressive galleries at the Art Institute to the carefree feeling that’s experienced when in Millennium Park. Drinks at the Signature Room in the Hancock Tower overlooking Lake Michigan and boutiques and bakeries (Sweet Mandy B’s is OF LIFE) lining the streets of neighborhoods like Lincoln Park and Wrigleyville- Chicago is friendly, sweet and completely entertaining. There’s never a dull moment and its no wonder why young professionals flock to the city. It’s full of fun bars, home to the Chicago Cubs (a game at Wrigley will be an experience you’ll never forget- even for a WIT!), offers great shopping and fabulous food.

Get to planning your next WIT trip and tackle this big, but little feeling windy city. It’s one of the best and will be sure to a WIT favorite.
