iDo: Tiffany gives engagement ring shopping the Apple treatment

iDo: Tiffany gives engagement ring shopping the Apple treatment

This post is brought to you by the darling Virginia from Lovely20s.

Tiffany & Co. just released a new application called the Engagement Ring Finder that pretty much blew me away. As an avid iPhone user, I am always on the lookout for useful apps and this definitely ranks up there. It is helpful as can be, even for those who are not close to getting hitched (like myself) because, let’s be honest, we girls like to dream and think ahead. This is also perfect for men who want to surprise their fiances-to-be.

Features of this application include:
- A ring sizer, the first tool of its kind from a jeweler, which allows users to determine their size by placing an actual ring directly on the screen. After placing the ring on the screen, you can scroll and align it with a match (screenshot below)

- Ability to browse the collection according to shape, setting, metal or design. You can also pair the rings with wedding bands.
- The rings are shown true-to-size and each style may be viewed with diamonds of six different carat sizes. Users can also zoom in on a ring’s details.
- Save and share favorites via e-mail, Facebook and Twitter.
- Make an appointment to go in-store or set up a call with a consultant

Watch a video of how exactly the application works here!

The application is available to download now at the iTunes Apple store. Click here to download.

Super Sweet Bridesmaid’s Dresses

Super Sweet Bridesmaid’s Dresses

For our bridesmaids, we love a minimalist style that flatters our gals and never overshadows the bride. Most importantly, they need to be able to cut a rug in whatever they wear!

Simple Silhouettorchid_2es is sure to make you wonder-girls swoon. You can shop by color, collection, length and fabric and you can request free fabric and color samples online.

Some of our favorites: this lovely lavender Orchid and this sassy scoop-necked Aster.

They’ve recently added some nice bridal gowns. We especially love this fitted Tulip number. Classy all around!

The downside? They only have one showroom in New York to try on their fabulous frocks. However, they will send a sample dress to one of their select retailers for a minimal $25 fee.

Wedding Embellishments We Adore…and Might Actually Use Again!

Wedding Embellishments We Adore…and Might Actually Use Again!

Weddings are all about the details, details, details. From custom stirrers for your signature cocktail to personalized beverage napkins to monogrammed toilet paper (no joking) – your guests will be charmed that you spared no expense to make them happy.

Here are some non-traditional embellishments that have caught our eye lately.

First up, forget the round lanterns that you’re used to see at almost every wedding. These poms are the new ceiling candy. PomsThey’re less structured and more whimsical and come in so many different sizes, styles and colors.

Looking for something to adorn your catering, cake or gift tables? These Fiesta-inspired decorations called papel picados would make a merry addition to your wedding and you could re-use them at future house parties. PapelPicados

Finally, consider ditching the standard please sign here guest book and opt instead for this fun Polaroid guest book. You can designate someone to take Polaroids (plus people always look so much better in these) and then slip them in the preAlbumpared sleeves and leave a message. Adesso sells some basic ones, but we LOVE these albums by Etsy seller TheHandmadeBoutique. Her fabric selections are out of this world and prices are very reasonable.

Anyone reading this getting married soon? We’d love to hear some of the decoration alternatives that you have planned.
