happy new year

Leaving home is always bittersweet after the holidays, but today I’ll pack my things and this evening I head back to New York. But the start of a new year means new experiences & opportunities and for those, I could not be more excited. I’ve got my mind on resolving to work out more, do a juice cleanse for the first time, explore new parts of the city, take more photos, learn my new neighborhood front and back and soak up every wonderful moment along the year.

I hope you all had a beautiful New Year’s Eve and a wonderful holiday season. How did you celebrate?

As 2011 comes to a close I can’t help but feel incredibly grateful for the experiences WIT & Whimsy has allowed me and more importantly, for the friendships it has brought me. Each and every day I feel blessed to have readers like you and want to say a huge THANK YOU for visiting, commenting, tweeting, sharing and more. I’m excited to let all my WIT & Whimsy readers know that this season I’ll be speaking as part of a panel at the Independent Fashion Bloggers’ Evolving Influence Conference here in New York on September 7th.

I’ve had a rather rotten week unfortunately. Mostly work related, but when weeks like this happen, I’ve been employing the method my mom taught me about finding the things in your week that did make it enjoyable (despite all the un-fun stuff). This week that included drinking champagne with Taylor at the What I Wore book release party, sipping large iced coffees each morning, wearing a new 3.1 Phillip Lim polka dot tee, a new ‘M’ necklace sent to me by Maya Brenner, unwinding with wine after work curled up in my apartment and enjoying fresh flowers as much as possible.
