I’ve had a rather rotten week unfortunately. Mostly work related, but when weeks like this happen, I’ve been employing the method my mom taught me about finding the things in your week that did make it enjoyable (despite all the un-fun stuff). This week that included drinking champagne with Taylor at the What I Wore book release party, sipping large iced coffees each morning, wearing a new 3.1 Phillip Lim polka dot tee, a new ‘M’ necklace sent to me by Maya Brenner, unwinding with wine after work curled up in my apartment and enjoying fresh flowers as much as possible.

As you may have seen yesterday, I’m off to Mexico next week for some much needed R&R. Today I am Hamptons bound for the long weekend!! I am honestly giddy as I type this post. I cannot wait for some much needed sun (my skin is ghastly!), yummy and cool cocktails, a little R&R, delicious food and time spent with some of my favorite NY ladies.

New to my Google Reader is fellow StyleList network blogger Ramshackle Glam who shared a recipe for the perfect spring pasta- yum!

Refinery29 made me wish I still had my uber long hair with this little pony number.

Happy Royal Wedding day! Whilst you won’t see any posts dedicated to the event itself, I did think Kate looked absolutely stunning this morning and I loved watching the whole affair play out. I’m a sucker for tradition and pomp and circumstance, I’ll admit it.

T.G.I.F. What a crazy week it has been. Next week starts a whirlwind amount of travel for me including work (LA & San Francisco) and play (Vegas!) so I must get to packing. Thankfully there is plenty of spring inspritation out in my favorite fashion blogs to begin compiling outfits. That makes the task more fun!

I need to break out my Theory flares ASAP, especially after this Shut Up, I Love that Shirt On You post, An Affair with Flair.

I’m crushing on blue hues and this wit + delight post has me wanting some pops of cobalt and dreamy blue prints in my wardrobe now.

Elements of Style posts on Alix of Bohemia and the whole post has this beautiful aesthetic and makes me want to wander in fabric stores for days. Love it!

I must admit that this week was a rather sour one. I am so glad it is the weekend and I have fun plans with great friends to look forward to like Over the Rhine at the Highline Ballroom and brunching at Diablo Royale. Not to mention that I have a few of these little guys left for the weekend, too.

wit + delight brings us cheery shades that remind us that all these April showers will indeed bring May showers. (Made by Girl also gave a good dose of pink this week, too).

Coachella is right around the corner and while I never made it to the magical music fest, Sweet Thing has me inspired to rock my denim cut offs with just a dose more edge with her What to Wear to Coachella post.

Sincerely Jules put me in shopping jealousy mode when I saw she snagged a pair of wedges from Aldo’s new collection (raves from modman here). And her new Mara Hoffman vest is pretty dope, too. Check out her new digs here.

Jenni of I Spy DIY uses her mad skills to recreate the D&G metallic oxfords from the fall 2011 runway. If only I was as inspired and crafty as her! Until that day comes, I’ll continue to oggle over her crafty and genius ways.

Zara is EV-ERY-WH-ERE right now it seems. Their bright spring collection is popping up on blogs left and right and has me loathing the decision to go on a shopping cleanse, but nevertheless, I am newly in love with the blog Color Collective and loved this post in particular featuring some of the bolder pieces in the collection.

I’m in love with everything Matthew Williamson put down the runway at London Fashion Week last week and My Fashion Life shares the highlights.

because i’m addicted showcases Zara’s fun and funky colored trousers for spring. I think I need the pair in pink!

Natalie at Coquette rounded up the punchiest orange handbags and now I am lusting after the Rebecca Minkoff one because I think it would add so much to outfits! Thoughts?!

Sacramento Street pulls together the perfect little weekend look. I don’t think I could swing in this downpour in New York, but for spring, without a doubt! Love it, Caitlin!

Oh hey WIT & Whimsy readers…I’m officially in New York…what what! No surprise here, but already loving it…

However, I must start this weekly roundup by gushing a little over my Thursday night because it was such a thrill to be invited to Blue Stripe PR’s first ever blogger event wherein I was able to meet favorite bloggers of mine like effortless beauty, Keiko Lynn, classic chic meets urban street blogger Kim from eat.sleep.wear, and see certain bloggers who frankly, I’ve loved and adored for so long now that to be in the same room with them was a little bit like experiencing being starstruck. They included Something Navy, Trop Rouge (so pretty, it’s unreal) and…oh yes…The Man Repeller. Then there were also favorite blogger friends like the gorgeous Laney of Fashion Love Me (thank you for the invite!), Virginia of The Lovely 20s, Danny of the modman and Taylor of Shut Up, I Love that Shirt on You. Blue Stripe represents some awesome brands like Amanda Pearl, Mike Gonzalez and WIT & Whimsy favorite, Joie (seriously, do you see how much I wear and blog about Joie?!).

A new blog I just started following, Fashion Squad, is killing it in this awesome graphic print dress. I love the boldeness of it and vibrancy of colors. Perfect pop in a much needed gray winter.

Capitol Hill Style, always the investigative sort, determined an outragous little thing happening online between a major fashion brand and some vintage retailers on etsy.

My friend Jenny recently started a Tumblr, Bunny Days, and I love that it’s all such pretty photos that make you feel inspired, want to be cozy, or feel extra stylish.

Because I’m Addicted had me wishing for warm weather after touching down in NY from CA, but her photos from Vogue Turkey are amazing and make you feel like you’re there (well, almost. I’d need to shed a few pounds and get me some tan going on )

The spring 2011 lookbook for Club Monaco is now available for preview and FashionPulseDaily has the scoop.

oh joy! turned me onto the stellar vintage merchant American Archive in this post. Love the pieces she selected to highlight.

p.s. – I was newly introduced to the line ROMYGOLD and am kind of in love with their bags. Simple, yet chic and extremely versatile. Just my style! They actually just relaunched their website, too, so be sure to check it out.
