Guys, I am so excited for Memorial Day weekend this year as I am heading South to New Orleans! I have never been and have so loved getting excited through everyone’s tweets of Musts, etc. If you have any recommendations, please do share in Comments so I can use them as a guide while I’m down there. In the meantime, I thought I’d share some of my packing inspiration. I’m packing dresses and sandals almost exclusively (am a wee bit scared of the heat!), but will have a pair of dressier shorts and wedges thrown in, too, I’m sure.

I’ve been eyeing the Ash Bea wedge sneakers for quite some time- they are such a great daytime staple and the brand is now offering them in pretty pastels just in time for all that city walking you’re sure to do around this time of year! I love how Alicia styled her bright Ash orange ones, too. A good alternative to the Isabel Marant ones, as well. (I do love a good sneak after all…)

And..Happy Friday! I have a low key weekend planned of doing things that’ll bring me some much needed R&R such as a haircut, a facial, seeing the Schiaparelli and Prada exhibit at The Met and brunching with Ms. Blair for a long overdue catch up! What will you be up to?? xo

Happy Tuesday! I’ve been a busy little bee at my apartment the past few weeks trying loads of products to gear up for posts that’ll share my favorites for spring and summer! (Next up…hair care), but first here’s some little items that have me oo’ing and ahh’ing for all their genius little power.
// 1. Murad Clarifying Mask: Of all the masks I’ve tried (and that’s a lot!) this one definitely is a front-runner. It’s sulfur and clay based that works to purify and deep clean. I use it once a week and have found it really works to absorb excess oil & prevent additional breakouts.
// 2.Essie ‘Lollipop’: Talk about a stellar spring shade! This isn’t a new color for Essie, but it’s perfectly punchy and great for before I start to go all pink all the time this summer on my nails.
// 3. Bare Minerals Advanced Protection SPF 20 Moisturizer: I’m wearing moisturizer less these days because my skin has just been too damn oily (TMI?), but I’m dabbing this on for the weekends to provide a wee bit of coverage and the very necessary SPF. This is going to be a staple in my beach bag!
// 4. Bare Minerals Blemish Therapy: This guy is a little lifesaver. Similarly to the above in avoiding moisturizer for the time being, my derm told me last week to steer clear of all oil based products, concealers included. Therefore this guy came a the right time because its powder formula not only conceals and minimizes pores, it also treats throughout the day. GENIUS.
// 5. Benefit Cosmetics Dr. Feelgood: My mattifying saving grace, right here, ladies. Perfect for mid-day touch-ups and packed with Vitamins A, C and E. Can be worn with or without makeup so it’s really ideal in any situation….love, love, love.

The team at Frye was kind enough to send me the Frye boots I blogged about here and I’ve had such a great time styling them, particularly with dresses as the weather transitions. And they are SO comfortable! Wore the above look when my friend Megan was in town the other week and we headed over to visit the Brooklyn Flea to peek at all the pretty baubles and treat ourselves to Dough (o.m.g.).

I’m in love with practically every jacket and blazer that Zara currently has in store and online. The perfect layering piece, a colorful, textured or printed blazer is just what a springtime outfit needs as we transition into summer, don’t you agree?
Hopping a train to Boston this afternoon to meet my sister who will be flying there from Chicago…weee! I haven’t been to Boston since I was little (in 1994!) so I am long overdue and can’t wait to explore the city and see a few friends while I’m at it.

It’s been ages since I attended as an event as I am still working on keeping my social calendar more trim, but last night I headed up Madison Avenue to Lilly Pulitzer for a night of sipping cocktails among fellow bloggers while hearing a bit more about the brand and checking out their too-cute and, of course, super bright and fun Summer 2012 collection.
More to come soon (including what pieces I’ll be sporting soon!), but I just had to share the most amazing gift the Lilly team sent us each home with…a custom print of ourselves as inspired by our blogs and drawn by Lilly Pulitzer’s Print Designer, Paige Smith…can you believe this!? Isn’t it so amazing? Everything from my beloved aviators, go-to side pony and the trusty stack of magazines…they totally nailed my look and I am so touched & honored to have the framed print a part of my home now.
Huge thanks to the LP team for a wonderful evening and the beautiful print I’ll always cherish. I can’t wait to show you my new pieces soon! xo
Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray, $19.50 and $39
I always love stumbling across great little beauty finds and this Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray has to be the best hair product I’ve tried in months. It came as a result of my work with Birchbox (love them) for this little project, and I’ve been rather addicted since then. The spray delivers on just what it says it will: building texture and what girl doesn’t need that every now and then?
For those mornings you need to work your hair into a little updo or don’t feel like fully styling, this spray is perfect. I have the travel size and have been brining it on most of my trips this year to build bulk into my hair for easier styling while obtaining great volume and a better texture. I highly recommend this spray (it’s worth the heftier price tag). It’s also great when used in conjunction with my favorite dry shampoo.
