holiday dressing : 01

This year I thought I’d do a little guide on holiday dressing. For the office, for cocktail parties and this look, for a holiday get together with friends.

A few ideas:

  1. Coated denim is a great alternative to leather leggings or pants and I love these comfortable James Jeans Twiggy jeans.
  2. Look for tops that are tastefully embellished with sequins or beading
  3. Pair jewel tones like burgundy and emerald
  4. Play up your look with weather appropriate accessories such as a scarf featuring faux fur

Snapped these photos before my New York celebration of my birthday and failed to share them till today! I spent the day out having brunch and cocktails with several girlfriends after initially celebrating my birthday back in California. I felt it the perfect occasion to don my Parker dress for the first time and bring out my all too infrequently used Louis Vuitton vintage clutch (last seen here).

As you may have read, I spent the weekend in Washington DC with Taylor. It was the perfect few days spent outside of New York City and wonderful to spend time with some family (before my brother moves to South Africa in a few weeks!) I have more photos to share, but here’s what I wore the majority of the weekend- jeans,  a cozy sweater and this great Brahmin bag that fits SO much in it. I didn’t have a proper satchel, but this Brahmin bag fits the bill now and is great for travel.
