Surprise! It’s an outfit post on Wednesday- I guess you could say I’m feeling like an overachiever this week.

:)

I’ve recently been noticing myself leaving the house in head to toe black ensembles and I think that New York City life may have really seeped into my purchase habits when it comes to my wardrobe. There’s always been that je ne sais quoi about wearing all black and I personally lean towards it given it can be more forgiving than say stripes or a printed top (which are hard on a girl who has a sizable chest and decent curves). My new leather jacket (seen here as well) now makes the perfect topper to any ensemble (I’ve recently paired it with a girly dress and boots and also over distressed denim and a plaid button down.)

And these LOFT pants? I’m in love! First and foremost they have an elastic waist (huzzah!), they are so comfortable and despite being silk- they travel well. Just add a little of this when you unpack them and you’re golden. I love the tuxedo-like trim and paired with the Club Monaco sandals that I had been eyeing and (then scored at their sample sale last week)- I was out the door.

For my entire adult life I’ve wanted a leather jacket. I’ve attempted to save up before but then always end up losing sight of my goal but during the Saks recent Friends & Family sale, I finally bit the bullet and purchased this Vince jacket I’ve yearned after for years. I subsequently have worn it five days in a row layering it over a variety of ensembles all weekend and I have to say…man was it worth the investment. I love the oversized collar, the stitching detail on the back and the feel of it…heaven.

Paired the leather with some new Kate Spade kicks that are as fun as they are comfortable and the most amazing BaubleBar statement necklace of all time. Kate Spade has been killing their shoe game as of late in my opinion so I gathered some I currently love for you to peruse below (next on my own list? These art-deco inspired heels – perfect for the holidays!)

How was your weekend? My parents were in town since Wednesday and I had such a blast toying about town with them – we did so much including a lot of items on my bucket list…The Cloisters, The Tenement Museum, dinner at Scarpetta (white truffle heaven!), wandering Central Park, seeing Tail! Spin! (highly recommend), You Can’t Take it With You and the piece de resistance…utter culinary dreams with dinner at Thomas Keller’s Per Se.

Hope you had a wonderful one & thanks so much for popping by!

As mentioned in this post, I’ve been loving Banana Republic’s revamp (most recently picking up this sweater + this bracelet) but I’m in love with this skirt for its color. I already have burgundy booties and a burgundy clutch, but I plan on adding some additional pieces for this season – it’s my favorite color for this time of year. Some pieces in the shade I’m considering are below!

Shot these photos last week during a brief warm day before temperatures dipped and rain swept the city. I think summer like weather is now officially over – RIP, summer, RIP.

Hope you’re having a great week – it’s almost the weekend and I have two very special guests in town – lucky me! First order of business? Seeing You Can’t Take it With You on Broadway with Rose Byrne & James Earl Jones!

Outfit: Banana Republic skirt, Madewell top and heelsLevi’s jacket, Cuyana tote, Ray Ban sunglasses, BaubleBar necklace (in love!) and Tubular stud earrings
