fresh faced post-fitness

Screen Shot 2013-03-17 at 9.39.14 PM

I’ve been trying to workout four times per week – a feat for me when it actually happens but in order to fit it in, it requires at least one morning session a week which means getting ready in under 30 minutes in a locker room without my usual supply of beauty products. That being said, I’ve figured out a five minute face that will leave you fresh-faced and feeling put-together without a whole lot of product.

  1. Benefit Posietint (for cheeks and lips)
  2. BareMinerals Ready Foundation
  3. Dior Mascara
  4. Dior Brow pencil
  5. Benefit Dallas (brush on over Posietint on your cheek bones)

I hope you had an enjoyable weekend! I have a short work week as I’m heading home to Chicago on Thursday- hooray!

an afternoon at mario badescu

Before I jetted off to Miami, I had the opportunity to go to the Mario Badescu salon here in Manhattan for what I believe to have been the best facial I’ve ever received. Big claims, I know!  You’ve heard me rave about Mario Badescu’s products in the past (here and here) but I so enjoyed experiencing the facial because they are extremely clinical in their approach to their facials. Not to mention their European facial is priced at $65 (!). The extractions were performed so well and my skin was left feeling unbelievably clean and refreshed.

On a Sunday afternoon the place was packed with women getting facials and ordering product – you know they are doing something right. During my treatment, I experienced a new facial add-on known as The Gold Mask. It was heavenly. It’s infused with natural gold and pearl powder and works to tighten, tone, renew and illuminate your skin and it did just that. Unlike other facials where you leave sometimes feeling overly shiny or overly dry, my skin was rejuvenated and felt healthier than ever. A big thank you to Nicole at Mario Badescu for allowing me to experience what I had heard so much raving about.

Mario Badescu is located at 320 East 52nd Street. You can schedule your appointments by calling 212.758.1065.

beauty crush: peter thomas roth’s lashes to die for

PeterThomasRothPlatinumLashes

I mentioned this product a few weeks back and have continued to use it so I wanted to shed the spotlight on it a bit. I’ve never been the girl with super long lashes and I haven’t yet convinced myself to shell out for lash extensions because I don’t know if I could keep up with the maintenance, but Peter Thomas Roth’s Lashes to Die For Platinum has given my lashes just the boost they need of late. It’s made my lashes longer and fuller and even darkened them slightly (I am ok with this, but as with all beauty products you should read the warnings on the label before use). The treatment also infuses your lashes with vitamins for strong lashes.

If you’ve never had luck with those mascaras that promise to lengthen your lashes (I never really did), I highly recommend this product. Just swipe it on at nighttime and in a few short weeks, you’ll notice the benefits.
