kaboodle fashion show

Wearing: Haute Hippie dress, Cole Haan pumps, Alexis Bittar jewelry, Marc by Marc Jacobs clutch

As announced back in May, I was thrilled to be asked to help Kaboodle celebrate their fifth anniversary by walking in their runway show yesterday evening. And let it be said, I am no model, but damn, walking a run way is F-U-N! What a rush it was, but such a great experience to have, especially when joined by an amazing group of bloggers, fashion & tech influencers and kaboodle users. I had such a blast hanging with blogger favorites Taylor of Shut Up, I Love that Shirt on You, Katy of Sugar Laws, Jordana of Clutch 22 and Lauren of Everyday to Runway.

Want to watch the video of the show? Head here! You can also check out articles on WWD and Guest of a Guest (where yours truly is mentioned!)

Thanks so much to Kaboodle for having me and putting on such a fun event, Bloomingdale’s for supplying all the looks, and Paul LaBrecque (especially Caroline) for hair & makeup.

And hair begins…

Loved the braided do I was given

A close up…

Tay gets her makeup done!

Loved Jordana’s rocker look

Stage is set…

Taylor’s amazing Steve Madden wedges. Effortlessly chic. Must.Buy.Pair.Soon.

Left: With Bryce of The Luxury Spot, Taylor and Katy of Sugar Laws. Right: Apparently there’s nothing fashion related Taylor and I don’t do together :)

Marisa, Kristen & Sara came to cheer me on!

kaboodle + bloomingdale’s + wit & whimsy

Gals (and those guys out there, too), I’ve got exciting news that on June 7th, I’ll be attempting to walk a runway (seriously, I mean attempt, not something I do often…or, ever…) here in New York as part of Kaboodle.com’s Fab at Five Design Challenge!

To celebrate their fifth anniversary, Kaboodle is throwing the ultimate fashion show bash in the Big Apple. Plus, you can enter to be a part of it. Fab news, right?!

Head to the Fab at Five contest site, style a look and enter for a chance to win a trip to New York, including airfare and accommodations and a once-in-a-lifetime chance to work the runway and show your style off.

Plus, you’ll get to hang with yours truly and other favorite w&w bloggers like Shut Up, I Love that Shirt on You, Ramshackle Glam, Sugar Laws and more! And what’s more…we’ll each be sporting a look styled by a winner and furnished by Bloomingdale’s. Fun, fun. We know- so much excitement.

DVF launches “Ready to Wear Home”

The reasons I moved to New York are many, but my decision to do so was highly justified when the opportunity to meet Diane von Furstenberg popped up in my email the other week.

On February 11th, Diane launched her home collection which mimics the bold, glamorous and bright aesthetic for which she is so well known when it comes to fashion. Available at Bloomingdale’s and on DVF.com, the collection consists of tabletop, bedding and decorative accessories and was produced in partnership with Springs Global.

As she walked media through the collection, Von Furstenberg stated, “Design your life the way you want to live,” and the Diane von Furstenberg Home collection truly gives everyone an opportunity to do just that. The pieces are chic, festive and fun and bring DVF’s trademark uses of colors and prints to the home.

Diane noted she’s proud of the mix & match ability for which the collection allows and divulged that she personally loves eating most anything out of a bowl and believes homes should be centered around important pieces of furniture like the bed and the dining table.

When I asked her why she decided to do a home collection, Diane revealed that she believes your home is the extension of your personal style and that your home should reflect your same sense of fashion and design as your wardrobe. “I have a large base of young customers and I wanted to design pieces for them as well so that when they get married, get their first home, they have eclectic and beautiful things in their home that will last forever. Design shouldn’t be intimidating. It should be celebrated.”

The tabletop collection, ranges from $25 to $150.

The bedding collection of duvet covers, coverlets, sheets, shams and throw pillows and blankets, in lustrous cotton twill and sateen weaves, all range from $80 to $300.

Bath will be added to the home collection this coming Fall and Diane also divulged that furniture is also something she’ll be releasing in the coming years.
