touch of glitter

Before it even launched, I’ve been a fan of The Glitter Guide because I couldn’t adore the founder, Taylor, more and also love and count among my friends one of her main counterparts, Alicia. The online guide is designed to be your go-to for inspiration, lovely lifestyles, fashion fantasies and all things that put a little “glitter” into our worlds.

That being said, I thought I’d share some of my favorite glitter-girl inspired picks that I’m coveting right now. (Let it be known, there are a lot more where these came from. I narrowed my selection to spare you. Definitely included would be these Cynthia Rowley gems from yesterday’s post though!)

Styled 3 Ways: The White tee

Styled 3 Ways: The White tee

In the past I’ve done Styled 3 Ways posts with other blouse inspiration (like here and here) or a bigger trend like color pops (check it here), but recently have been drawn to a favorite Gap tee of mine that is as cozy as it is versatile. There’s so much that can be done with a white tee whether you dress it up for work, dress it down for Sunday brunching or make it work in dozens of other ways,  but man am I feeling inspired by the little guy of recent.

Here’s three ways to style your favorite plain white tee, featuring the glorious Kain tee.

This look is all about nighttime and going out in the summer while keeping cool, but being extremely feminine. I adore the look of sequin shorts and while the pieces in this look are all rather high-end, it could be easily replicated by items you most likely already have in your closet. (I am completely obsessed with the Tory Burch shoes, by the way. major coveting happening).

This look I’d call weekend americana. Completely wearable for a day spent shopping with your girlfriends, indulging in a boozy brunch or meeting up with friends for a low key dinner. I love the embroidery on the skirt and these All Saints espadrilles are a total dream. Plus, I’m loving the look of a denim vest paired with more girly pieces right now. A headscarf tops the whole look off.

This final look was compiled with work in mind. I’ll be with clients most of this week and there’s nothing more reliable than a classic black pant and when paired with a fitted tee tucked in paper bag waisted pants with loads of sleek and simple jewelry (I went with Dannijo) and a pop of color thanks to these sassy Pour La Victoire pumps, you’re set to take on the world (business wise, that is). Oh, and a perfect work tote from the Coach Chelsea collection doesn’t hurt either.
Now, tell me, which look is your favorite?

Come Fall, give me the blues…

Normally Fashion Week for the fall season gets me all excited about neutrals and warm tones and cozy sweaters and oversized jackets. Well, now that I live in New York where all those are not only commonplace, they are necessities, I’m overlooking my eagerness for any of those due to the blissful thoughts that come to mind as I look just to spring.

Nevertheless, despite all the gorgeous, deep reds and beautiful, rich browns and camels gracing the runways currently for the upcoming fall season, I couldn’t help but notice that really beautiful cobalt blues were popping up all across the collections. I adore this color for being so timeless and elegant, yet perfectly punchy without being obnoxious. I guess it helps that I’m a blue-eyed gal, too, don’t you think?

Here are some of my favorites so far. As to be expected, Diane von Furstenberg (read about when DVF and I hung out here, btw) and Rebecca Taylor both showcased some pretty amazing pieces in the color du jour.
