springtime sorbets

Alongside this color crush, I absolutely love all the sorbet colors that graced the runways this past Fashion Week. When I was little my favorite ice cream flavor was rainbow sherbet and so many pieces featured above take me back to summertime moments spent delighting in the colorful, cool treat atop a sugar cone.

While my mind is on to dressing for fall, these looks from Spring 2012 have me looking forward to the many seasons of New York I’ll experience first-hand living here now!

Have a favorite from the pieces above? Mine is 3.1 Phillip Lim, I think…and you?

fall 2011 trend to watch: the trouser

With Fashion Week right around the corner (a month from yesterday!) and summer winding down, I’m already gearing up for Fall. I’m excited to bring layers back into my rotation, pick up some cozy and structured coats, build up the blue in my wardrobe, and…adding some structured trousers into my daily outfits (so these don’t get lonely). As much as I love mini skirts, flirty dresses and a large daily dose of jeans, I’m loving the look of bold colored slacks and wide legged trousers in classic colors. These will definitely be some go-tos for me this coming fall.

Here are just a few of my picks thus far…what do you think?

And, as seen on some of my favorite West Coast bloggers (who are experiencing fall weather right now as part of California “summer”!)

Wedged

Last year I was obsessing over DVF’s Opal Wedges, but there was no way I was going to drop that kind of money so I was thrilled when Steve Madden came out with these affordable alternatives. I’ve been wearing them in California this week and they’re the perfect mix of height and casual, cool. Can’t wait to pair them with more flirty, feminine dresses.
