Winter Workout Gear

Let’s be honest, one of our most pledged New Year’s resolutions is to hit the gym, pronto! Why not kickstart your workout with feel-good and look-good gear.  As the temperature drops below freezing across the nation, there is no excuse to layer the wrong type of workout clothes at the gym.  Unless you’re training for the Winter Olympics or are hitting the slopes, we suggest to dress in breathable layers (think Under Armour “cold gear” wear) at the gym.  Sometimes the right fitting (and feeling) clothes will inspire a brand new work out.  Here are a few ideas, all in basic grey.

The Bag- Stella McCartney for adidas has some fabulous and chic gym bags. Check out the reasonably priced “Hitrenn Bag” for $140.

The Top: Racerbacks are still the best for the gym in terms of flexibility and movement.  Be sure to layer with a fleece zip-up or cotton hoodie while warming up.  Our favorites include Victoria’s Secret VSX Line of workout wear, or pick up a few CP by Champion tops at your local Target.

Pants- lululemon has the most amazingly fitted and comfortable pants.  We adore the “Wear with All” pants that you can wear while working out, running errands, or lounging around. Just don’t forget to stretch it out and work up a sweat!

Febreze Does the Home Good

FP102656109_CRANPEARL_LEAF copyFebreze is a god-send. Frankly, we still remember when they first came out and how amazing the idea of ridding your house of certain orders with a simple spray was like a revolutionary idea. Cleaning goddesses rejoiced worldwide, we’re pretty sure.

Now Febreze is inundating our homes with a new collection and we’re liking what they’re doing – again!

We tested out the flameless luminary (seen here) – a part of their new Home Collection – and our home was filled with a lovely (however, a tad strong!) with a green tea citrus scent that definitely accomplished its task of freshening up the place. The luminary comes with decorative, scented shades you can change to let a flickering light shine through.

Other fragrances include Pomegranate Mango, Cranberry Pear and Willow Blossom, in addition to select seasonal scents.

While it’s not the most attractive home decoration we’ve ever seen, we do love it more than having an ugly plastic item sticking out of an outlet! The entire Febreze Home Collection can be found at select retailers including Target and Wal-Mart.

With all we’re expected to remember and do in a day, week, or month’s worth of time, it’s become almost essential that we make our life somewhat portable. Thankfully, there are a slew of wonderful large bags that can serve as our ‘carry alls’ when it comes to being WITs out in the world with our cell phones, planners, sunglasses, ipods, and anything else we can manage to fit!

This Juicy tote is a perfect color and can easily serve a WIT’s purposes from spring to fall! (Available at Neiman Marcus)

Ralph Lauren’s crocodile bag is essential for the working WIT as it exudes an upscale class that is business appropriate, but can easily take you from a day at the office to a night of cocktails! (Available at www.polo.com)

This bag from Hobo International is great for nights out or weekends spent browsing boutiques. It’s a gorgeous soft leather that makes it appropriate for evening, but with its classic hobo shape, you can throw this over your shoulder of any casual outfit! (Available at Nordstroms)

If you’re on a budget be sure to check out stores like Target that change their merchandise often and can often offer you up a decently-made bag that will last you at least a couple of seasons! Also be sure to check out Nordstrom stores and their website regularly as their sale prices can be fantastic for that Marc Jacobs bag you’ve been eyeing!
