an ode to: tibi

In my mind, Tibi can do no wrong (point in case number uno). Everything in their “What’s New” for Winter/Fall 2011 has me drooling. Jewel tones + bright turquoises and oranges, high-collared blouses and dresses, silk chiffon little numbers, jacquard dresses and skirts, mini-leopard prints…I mean, there is no fault with this collection, right?

I swear, if I was told I could only wear three designers for the rest of my life, Tibi would be at the top of my list. It is so.my.style.

Now to pick a favorite would be the hard part…what look do you like best?

tibi ss12

Whenever I get the invite to a Tibi show, I get giddy. I absolutely adore designer Amy Smilovic’s aesthetic and while the past few seasons she’s been less about party frocks and pretty details, the clothes still have a vibe of effortless style that allow for an air about them that leaves me just dying to wear them.

The SS12 collection was no exception presenting crisp lines, airy pleated dresses, wide-legged trousers, carefree tanks and perfectly tailored shorts and blazers. I attended the show with Laura and we both loved how simple, yet striking each of the looks were.

And to gush just a bit more about my love for this line, the Tibi site itself is too cute and full of style inspiration and I adore their blog. I loved their styling partnership with Olivia Palermo and have also been known to sport a few of their frocks (like here and here).

{currently craving} western wear

going west

After a week spent in Colorado, it’s strange to be back in New York City amidst the crazy, busy, hustle & bustle of this isle I now call home. I’m finding myself craving the elements of laid back, Western style that make a place like Beaver Creek seem so comforting and beautiful. Rich leathers, turquoise beads, worn denim, fringe accents, and soft hues are just some of the things that I love about being out West. My ideal Western style would be a mix of high & low end as showcased here in this Polyvore set. And imagine how much more chic had I been doing the below horseback riding in the above outfit than what I was really wearing (tee, jeans, tennis shoes…quelle horreur!)

I have tons more Colorado photos to share from my vacation, but in the meantime…have a chambray button down you are looking to have go the extra mile? Check out 3 ways to style it!

p.s I’m the guest blogger on See Jane today! Head over yonder to check out my full list of fall 2011 essentials.
