The Gap family of brands is starting their friends and family event this Thursday with the typical 30% off deals at Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy and the new Athleta brand.

The twist with this promotion is when cardmembers select a nonprofit of their choice and send the coupon to friends, 5% of all purchases will be donated to the charity they selected. Gap is notorious for supporting community causes, but we like that they are getting shoppers involved. Charities that are part of this event include: Teach for America, DonorsChoose.org, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Care, Feeding America and (Red) Global Fund.

Our charity of choice was the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) because they strive to fund research so every blood cancer patient has the chance to live a long and prosperous life.
