the trends you won’t find me wearing

September 6, 2011

With New York Fashion Week kicking off this Thursday, the word “trend” will be all over which got me thinking about some of the fall trends popping up lots of places that I just know I won’t be sporting anytime soon. Sometimes it takes quite a bit to admit not jumping on certain fashion bandwagons, but these are the ones I just can’t bring myself to wear.

Any trends you won’t be wearing anytime soon despite their popularity?

p.s. tomorrow i speak at IFB! will you be there? if not, won’t you tune in?! xo

  1. I’m ashamed to say it, Meghan, but I kinda want to try yellow nails now. 🙂 It kind of goes along with the banned books theory. Once you know they’re banned you want to read them that much more. Maybe I’ll give them a try, and you can laugh at me if I look ridiculous! haha

  2. I did the yellow nails this summer but am with you on the Litas, bright pants, and cocoon dresses. I also can’t stand rompers and jump suits. They’re just not for me. Good luck tomorrow!

Haha I love this post!! The yellow nails are an interesting one. Good luck tomorrow, you will be fantastic! Wish I could be there to cheer you on. <3

I am definitely on board with ignoring fugly fad fashion! Although I have to admit…I like me some crazy printed pants.

i agree on the cocoon dresses and printed pants., two quite unflattering pieces for almost anyone. definitely not jumping onto those two bandwagons either. It’s a breath of fresh air to read the trends you are not into rather than are, because i feel like most people would only write how they’re into every fall trend, when realistically not everything works for everybody. i try to weed out the trends i don’t think would work on my body type, as well as those I just don’t feel my whole heart are into at the time too.

    loved this post! 🙂

I do love embracing trends because they bring a bit of diversity to my wardrobe, but I just couldn’t seem to get behind the flatform trend… Yuck!

  8. Victoria says:

Definitely won’t be wearing hippie headbands or those foul feather extensions!

  9. I agree with you on all these trends, especially the Litas (they’ve been all over the blogs lately and I just don’t get the appeal).

Perfection! It’s good to see blogger’s that won’t cave to every trend. It’s nice to see some personality!
