"By way of the clog" (and why we dislike them)

If you watched Gossip Girl on Monday you would have heard the following:

Blair: Well, I can see my advice went the way of the clog!

Serena: What are you talking about?

Blair: An ugly wooden shoe that tried to make a statement and then disappeared.

Sad to say, however, the queen B is apparently incorrect as the clog is starting to pop up on shopping sites and let it go on record that we’re not fans. This is one trend we’re not looking forward to seeing resurface. Ripped jeans? Fine. Knee-high socks (seen on many runways for Fashion Week Fall 2010 including at Cynthia Steffe)? Sure. Chunky, ugly, impossible to make stylish clogs? No, thank you!

How can you support these?!
