While I travel quite a bit, I’ve never taken the time to source a photographer for on-location shoots of the places that I’m traveling to. I typically rely on friends or just stock up on NYC shoots to get me through my time on the road but when I redesigned wit & whimsy earlier this year, I made a promise to myself that I would further commit to some areas in which I’d previously not given the effort.
With that forward, I’m excited to share the first of 2 outfits I shot while out here in Colorado and in doing so I get to share a slice of heaven that is the Vail Valley. These were shot in the charming part of Vail Village called Lionshead. Nestled up against the mountain, the buildings have a touch of Europe to them and there’s no shortage of beautiful balconies filled with wildflowers alongside cafes with delightful outdoor terraces for dining and plenty of shops to be distracted by.
I’m so lucky to have been spending the week out here. Can I just say how good it feels to breath mountain air, go days without makeup on and dress more casually? I joked upon leaving New York that this may be one of my first trips in which I didn’t pack a pair of heels!
Up in the mountains my uniform is generally knits and distressed denim or casual dresses topped with a denim jacket. I packed flats and sneakers and plenty of workout clothes but managed to fit 9 days into one carry on (insert round of applause for self here!)
I hope you’re having a great week!
