Designer Profile: Haute Hippie

January 15, 2010

Haute – definitely. Hippie – not so much? Although we have a big disconnect whenever we see  the Haute Hippie name, there is no denying that we’re swooning over the current collection. A perfect mix between casual knits, glamorous cocktail dresses and fabulous skirts, Haute Hippie doesn’t disappoint (well except for the extremely high price point). The current collection is filled with one of our favorite trends- SEQUINS! If money were no object we’d own every single skirt and dress in the collection.

Haute Hippie proudly states that their clothing “embodies the spirit of the global nomad and is inspired by the eclecticism of cultures and trends the world over.  The women that inspire our collection seamlessly blend the modern with vintage, urban chic with a rustic ethnic piece and elegance with the everyday. The quintessential Haute Hippie woman is as comfortable on safari in Africa as she is walking the streets of 5th Avenue or hanging out in a cafe in Florence – a citizen of the world who does not feel the need to conform to trends.”

Now that’s speaking our language. In a perfect world we’d be on safari in Africa, walking 5th Avenue and of course hanging out in a cafe in Florence decked out in Haute Hippie. Think there’s a job out there that would allow for this? Perhaps one day. Until then, we’ll be lusting over our favorite’s below.
