The Summer Jean

Everlane Summer Jean I wit & whimsy

Did you guys have a good weekend? Mine was a good mix of downtime (a 3 hour nap!) and fun with friends including a visit to a tulip farm in New Jersey, going out with my brother on Saturday and brunching with a friend on Sunday. Despite being full of plans, the weekend seemed long and I closed it out at my favorite yoga studio on Sunday evening. I hope you had a good one as well!

The Summer Jean

Everlane released today their “summer jean” which is a lighter, looser, lived-in boyfriend jean. I’ve always loved the boyfriend jean style so I was excited to get a pair to test out and style here. They are perfectly slouchy and super soft rendering them crazy comfortable. Everlane does such a good job making quality, affordable denim and this is another favorite pair of mine by them.

In other good clothing news, Sezane (who makes the button down I’m wearing in this post) released their summer collection yesterday and I am so in love with so many of the pretty new arrivals. Including but not limited to this dress, this dress, this dress, this dress (those straps!!), these shorts, this top, this skirt, this polished jacket and this dress. While their pieces are a bit pricier, I can’t speak highly enough of the quality and timeless nature of their clothes. The pieces I own I reach for time and time again. (Their Paris store is also a favorite destination of mine!) They do free returns from the U.S., too by the way!

Enjoy your Monday you guys!

Everlane Summer Jean (c/o; wearing size 28 – could have also sized down for a less loose fit) // Sezane Tomboy Shirt (wearing size 8; last seen here) // Christoper Cloos Sunglasses  (last seen here) // Celine Bag // Ted Baker Trench Coat (very similar one by J.Crew here) // Common Projects Sneakers (less expensive version here) // Cluse Watch

p.s. some of my other favorite wardrobe basics and loads of cute dresses under $100.

love this look — giving me inspo for how to style a button down casually this spring/summer! which is great bc I often get into a style “rut” for button downs and think of them as work clothes only (I work in a relatively conservatively dressing profession), so it’s great to think about how to change it up!

Just don’t love the jeans- don’t think they are flattering. I know all the bloggers love, love Everlane- but sometimes I don’t think their pants work. Love their sweaters, sandals…but don’t like the jeans in particular-
I love the skinny jeans on you ( and me!)- you look great in them

Thanks so much for posting this. I just ordered my first pair of Everlane Jeans (the mid blue Summer Jean) and was interested to see pictures of how they fit on a “real” person…beyond the company website. Still kind of nervous about the size I picked, but I really appreciate your pictures and the size info you posted…very helpful!
