Fashion Week Fall 2010: Irina Shabayeva

February 25, 2010

Fresh off Project Runway, in case anyone forgot why she won, Irina brought her A game to fashion week. After we saw our fav Twinkle in the tents we were whisked away to Irina’s show in a super cool open space where we mixed and mingled with cocktail in hand before the show.

Irina’s ability to make every piece look like a million bucks is amazing. Everything was super sleek and so rich in color that we wanted to snatch up every last matchstick pant and over sized sweater. We’ll be interested to see how much these pieces will retail for.

Many pieces included Irina’s signature hand painted wing design which was a cohesive thread throughout the collection. And as amazing as the sportswear was, the pieces gained momentum as she sent the show stopping pheasant feather handmade strapless dress and the white strapless dress with duck feathers down the runway…nothing we could write could do these dresses justice – so you’ll just have to see for yourself below. Some of the standouts:

If we didn’t live in California, we would snatch up this hat in a heartbeat

Love the pattern on this coat!

Irina’s sportswear was to die for…and we don’t normally like pants, but these are an exception

Love the half leather, half fabric minis – also an assortment of pants with a similar style

And now for the show stoppers….

No words…

Kudos to Heidi, Michael and Nina… Irina definitely deserved to win.

No idea how one would sit in this creation, but oh la la!
