Jenni Kayne Mules Review

I’ve loved shoes for as long as I can remember and I love having a variety of pairs in my rotation. After I purchased the Jenni Kayne Shearling Mules they became one of the most asked about items whenever I showed them on Instagram so today I am sharing a review of them.

Jenni Kayne Mules Review

If you’re not familiar, Jenni Kayne is the California cool brand that’s all above classic and relaxed yet polished Cali vibes. They make both home goods and clothing as well as accessories. I am a big fan of their apparel in particular.

Jenni Kayne bills themselves as a California lifestyle brand that inspires women to live well every day. When it comes to their clothing they are focused on wardrobe essentials which is something I can personally relate to as I truly believe in having a closet full of quality pieces that make you feel good to wear them. They want their pieces to be staples that don’t sacrificing style or comfort.

Jenni Kayne Shearling Mule

The brand makes a variety of styles of mules but after seeing the Shearling Mules styled often on Instagram by girls I follow, I nabbed them during one of the brand’s sales.

These mules are made in Italy and have a lightly padded leather insole with a semi-pointed toe. I find them to fun a bit wide but other than that they fit true to size.

I did find I had to wear them in a bit as the leather can cut into your foot a bit at the entry way point of the shoe. So be sure to get in some wear on them before you go off for a long walk.

These mules are definitely not my most practical pair I’ve ever had given the nature of the delicate shearling. You’re not going to find me traveling with these or wearing them in bad weather. And they definitely are a *look*. But given I wear a lot of streamlined, neutral pieces on a regular basis, they are a really fun way to add texture and visual interest to more simple outfits.

How to Style Jenni Kayne Shearling Mules

Brooklyn Heights Guide I wit & whimsy

I wear my mules with jeans and sweaters and wrap coats. Because they have a bit of a bulky silhouette due to the shearling fabric, I like the rest of my outfit to be super minimalist.

Due to the material, I also find this shoe to be more seasonal. So you won’t see me sporting them outside of Fall and Winter.

For something similar but a bit less look – check out the Jenni Kayne Shearling Lined Mule.

Jenni Kayne Suede Mule

I like the brand’s version of the mule in suede as I think it is a more versatile style – you can wear it with everything from workwear to vintage jeans. I think these are a great shoe to instantly elevate your wardrobe given the Italian craftsmanship.

The brand also has a pony hair mule which they offer in a popular cheetah print.

I’m personally not a cheetah print person but I do think the print is really fun to add some personality to a look.

If you prefer leather or a slight heel, I suggest you look at the Jenni Kayne Oiled Leather Mule or the Jenni Kayne Kitten Heel Mule which I think is nice as a dressier version to wear with skirts or leather pants or dresses.

Jenni Kayne shoes follow standard sizing and are intended to fit true to size unless otherwise noted. The sizing given is standard Italian sizing 35-41 – I wear a 37 which is equivalent to my 6.5/7 US sizing. You can also always check the sizing chart Jenni Kayne has on every product page.

I also have the Jenni Kayne Moroccan Slippers and they are heaven. I adore that they can be worn as a mule or you can flip up the fabric to cover your heels. They are dreamy to slide into every day! Definitely my favorite slippers I’ve ever owned and I like how chic they are, too.
