May Beauty Edit I wit & whimsy

It’s time for my monthly beauty edit and there’s a bit of everything in today’s post! I’m actually working on a massive beauty purge in advance of my move but you can bet none of these are going anywhere ;).

Enjoy!

Le Petit Marseillais Orange Blossom Body Wash:

I was so happy when this body wash that was a French pharmacy favorite of mine (I used it all through studying abroad in Paris) finally arrived in the United States! The orange blossom scent is so lovely and light and the brand actually now has additional products like hand wash, hand lotion and soaps all available Stateside. It’s super affordable while feeling luxe.

Laura Mercier Silk Creme Oil-Free Photo Edition Foundation:

I’m a huge fan of basically all Laura Mercier face products. When I travel I wear her tinted moisturizer with SPF every day, I love Flawless Fluide when I shoot in the summer and now I’m newly addicted to this oil-free foundation because the matte yet glowy formula stays put ALL day. The name of “photo ready” ain’t no joke, ladies. My skin looks more smooth, imperfections are minimized and my favorite part? It never feels like I am wearing face makeup! (I wear ‘Rose Ivory’ btw).

MAC Cosmetics ‘Prep + Prime’ Natural Radiance Base:

Hello, life saver! I had this product for a while before I actually got around to using it and now I can’t live without it! This base you use after your moisturizer and before your foundation and it basically acts as your prep product to get skin smooth and radiant. It’s not greasy or sticky like so many primers I’ve tried and it really gives this perfect canvas in a snap! A little goes a long way with just one pea-sized pump. (Truth talk: I even travel with the larger container because I can’t stand to be without!)

Jour D’Hermes Eau de Parfum:

So admittedly I am using this from a tiny sample I got in France after I fell in love with the shower gel in this fragrance on my trip to Bordeaux but it is pretty close to perfection when it comes to perfume in my opinion. When you’re next in a department store ask for a sample as I think you’ll love it too if you like more floral (but not overpowering) perfumes! I actually ended up treating myself to the shower gel on last week’s trip to Paris as for the past three years I’ve been living without a bathtub and my new apartment has one! (Truthfully I feel similarly about spending so much on bath gel as I did on Aesop soap but hey, #itsthelittlethings.)

By Terry Baume de Rose:

File under: Things I Can’t Stop Using. I slather this gorgeous and effective lip balm on every single day and now make sure it’s in whatever purse I leave the house. It’s been added to my list of favorite rose products for sure! I live for that scent.

p.s. my favorite natural beauty products and go-to beauty hacks.
