The other weekend when New York hit the high 60s I felt like a kid on Christmas. I got to pull out a summer dress and my trusty denim jacket (well 1 of the 3 I own…whoops?) Bekka and I headed to Bond Street and I followed up photos with an iced coffee at one of my favorite neighborhood spots, The Smile. Just the name makes you happy to pop into there. And luckily for me it’s just a few blocks away from my new apartment.

This outfit has me so excited for summer…outdoor concerts, trips to the Hamptons, picnics in Central Park, froyo, walks across the Brooklyn Bridge, day trips out of the city…I could go on and on. I will say as brutal as winter was, it sure makes you appreciative of the sunshine and time spent outdoors with good friends. It’s the little things…

This Joie dress I set up a sale alert for and was so happy to get it deeply discounted (I actually bought it via my iphone on the fly while at the Denver airport after Christmas!) Sale alerts really are my best friend. Below are some other dresses I have my eye on. This time of year I always prepare myself to seek out a half a dozen new dresses to add to my summer rotation that I know will get loads of use once the temps creep up to the 90s! Below are my picks right now…

Outfit: Soft Joie Leiston dress (in a darling floral print here), J.Crew denim jacket, Rag & Bone Harrow Booties, Banana Republic hat and necklace, Warby Parker sunglasses, Rebecca Minkoff clutch, BaubleBar x Anthropologie bracelet (c/o), Giles & Brother bracelet

p.s – Madewell is having an extra 20% off sale right now (until Monday) – use code MOODLIFT and watch me beat you to scooping up this skirt, this adorable one piece and this good-natured tee.
