outfit // the last of winter

You guys, I sincerely hope this is the last of my posts featuring any sort of winter wear. I have had it with coats and beanies. I bought 3 new winter coats this past season just to try and not get sick of my rotation but no such luck – still sick of them! I moved a bunch of coats and sweaters to storage under my bed this past weekend however to make room for dresses in my closet and just the very act of this made me more relieved.

Having to “turn over” my closet was something I had to learn to do when I moved to NYC. The limited storage and small, small, small closets made for getting creative. I use cascading hangers and under-the-bed units to store what I’m not wearing regularly. While not ideal these two minor changes made for less stress when it came to adjusting to Manhattan life. Back when I lived in San Francisco, I had two walk in closets that I shared with my roommate – it was a DREAM, but I was smacked back to reality upon landing in NYC. I often think of those closets…but hey life in New York ain’t all that glamorous when you break it down, but the stupid things like storage space are far outweighed by the awesome parts about living here (read more of my musings on this topic, here…)

If you’re in the mood for some shopping, Club Monaco is running a sale right now and there are so many good picks! (The booties I’m wearing in this post are also on sale as are my favorite leggings.) I rounded up my favorite pieces and you can shop them below.

I hope you had a great weekend. I got myself organized prior to leaving on vacation on Monday (warm we
ather here I come! More on that later this week…), took a field trip back to bartaco (so good!), got in my workouts (Core Fusion + Mile High Run Club) and worked (le sigh…) All in all, low key yet productive but there are no words to describe how anxious I am to be taking some days off next week.

And just a minor PSA, if you’re in the market for a white coat, this Kate Spade one is pretty much everything.

Happy Monday, all!

Love those jeans!! I really hope for your sake (and other New Yorkers) that winter is over. It’s been brutal for y’all!

I (almost) feel bad saying this but, I could use a few more weeks of snow. Not heavy blizzard like conditions but a few inches. The longer it stays cold down here in NYC, the longer it will stay freezing up at my ski house in Vermont. I do understand how you could be over it. We have the same photographer. Isn’t Bekka the best. With my current post, we were outside for only 15min and her poor hands were numb. So was my entire body. Your photo shoot looks fantastic. Doesn’t look like you’re freezing at all. Then again, you’re in a casual yet chic layered look. Just fantastic.

I do feel for you in regard to closet space, especially if you’re a fashion enthusiast. I’m super lucky to live here in NYC (Kips Bay/Gramercy area), I have 2 walk-in closets and then a long sliding door closet. Believe it or not, it’s still not enough. I have to keep my winter activity gear & sewing machine in the coat closet. I suppose I should stop shopping. I always feel like my doorman is judging me every time a pkg comes for me. Oh well.
