A Parisian Inspired Apartment Design Concept

Parisian Apartment Design I wit & whimsy

Once I signed my new lease, I turned to the design process to try and get me excited for the move. I wanted to, for the first time in my apartment-renting life, commit to a cohesive design. And decided on the idea of making the space feel like a Parisian apartment in Brooklyn.

In order to achieve my Parisian apartment design concept (and because interior design is most definitely not a strength of mine!), I turned to Havenly who makes working with interior designers easy and less intimidating. I began by saving inspiration on Instagram and put together a Pinterest board with images that resonated with me. Below is a sampling of the pins I added to the board and shared with my Havenly designer. You can get even more of a sense of my interior style here.

After I filled out the Havenly intake survey and conducted an initial consult with my Havenly designer Karen Richani, she worked to present me with the following initial concepts.

Following the review of these initial design concepts, we honed in on a combination of Concepts 1 and 2. And then refined it to be a bit less glam and a bit less stark.

We’re currently working off of the below concept and following my move I’ll be further determining which elements I’ll pursue.

Also following my move, I’ll be evaluating what I want to put into storage. And what I want to sell from my current pieces. I’m also working with the consultancy Proper Shoppe who are taking on art sourcing and styling for me to get the space feeling cohesive and finished. I can’t wait to see what their proposal looks like.  And I’ll be sure to share more here once it is ready.

I so appreciate all the excitement you guys have expressed in having me take you along on the process for achieving my dream Parisian-inspired apartment in Brooklyn!

It’ll be a while until I can share the finished product. But I am looking forward to sharing some behind the scenes of the experience with you all! In the meantime, you can shop my home here!
