Remember all those times you’ve drooled over an amazing designer frock that you love so much you’re not sure how you’ll live without it? Then remember all the accompanying times you’ve looked at the price tags of said frocks and realized that even sacrificing groceries and impulse purchases still won’t allow you to swipe the credit card?

Enter the answer to your designer prayers: Rent the Runway.

With three easy steps and an out of reach runway dress can be yours. We’d like to think of RTR as the latest dose of fashion genius.

1. Love: Browse through an array of A-list designers and find a dress you love. Or two!

2. Wear: Schedule a delivery date and your dress will appear on your doorstep, in two different sizes. Just to be safe.

3. Return: Put your dress in a handy pre-paid package and drop in the nearest mailbox. They’ll take care of the dry cleaning!

As the New York Times revealed, Rent the Runway is the Netflix of fashion. A mail-order service it allows women to rent dresses from notable fashion designers like Diane Von Furstenberg, Hervé Léger and Proenza Schouler for roughly one-tenth of what they would cost to buy in a retail store. The rentals run $50 to $200 for a four-night loan and are shipped directly to the customer’s doorstep.

Rent the Runway is a members only service, but can’t stand the thought of being on the wait list? WIT & Whimsy can hook you up. Just e-mail us at witwhimsy@gmail.com or tweet at us and we’ll get you an invite.
