Some New Summer Beauty Favorites from Nordstrom

Nordstrom Summer Beauty Picks I wit & whimsy

There’s nothing like a few new beauty products to provide a bit of a pick me up, right? And lately I’ve needed one. So when Nordstrom asked if I’d shop their beauty selection and share the favorites I found, I used it as an excuse to treat myself to a few old favorites + a few new luxury finds that I’m excited to share with you guys today.

As you all know, I’m working towards getting my beauty routine to be 80% Clean Beauty / 20% Conventional Beauty by the end of the year and I’m so pleased with the enormous strides towards this the past few months. While today’s finds may not be clean, they are by brands that feel like a special, treat-yourself-purchase and I’m all about that these days. I have found myself buying less clothing and more makeup and skincare the past few months.

Nordstrom’s Beauty Department carries such good brands and I fell in love (or re-in love!) with the products I picked up on a recent shopping session on their site. They also have a section dedicated to natural beauty + wellness products that includes a lot of my favorite clean brands so I’ve included some of those in a widget below should you be interested in shopping them. Many of them will look familiar if you’ve read recent past beauty posts or been watching my IGTVs during quarantine.

My Summer Nordstrom Beauty Picks:

Chanel Eau de Toilette Biarritz.

I first smelled this gorgeous, summer-y perfume when in France two summers ago and I’ve been thinking about it ever since so I’m happy it’s now sitting atop my dresser. I often buy fragrances as a means of sensorial transport back to happy memories and this one certainly does that for me. I’ve smelled it numerous times in France since that first smell I took and therefore it reminds me of the beautiful Chanel store on Rue Cambon in Paris as well as the striking Chanel counter at Le Bon Marche. It’s appropriately named after the striking seaside down in Southern France and it’ll transport you right there.

To me it smells of sunny days and salty French Rivera ocean air. It’s not overpowering but rather subtly romantic and perfectly bright + fruity. If you’ve never read about how Chanel and other high end perfumers make their perfumes in Grasse, France I highly recommend doing so — it’s pretty amazing!

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream.

Oh goodness did I forget how good this cream is! I used up a tub of it a few years back and picked up a mini from Nordstrom (I love that they offer several sizes) to revive my drier, somewhat lackluster summer skin. This cream has major plumping affects (it stimulates collagen production!) and helps to fight wrinkles (hello, 35!) Extra credit: the jar is so gorgeous you’ll want to leave it on your vanity. I know a lot of people use this as a night cream but I actually love it as a morning cream/makeup primer hybrid as it has a matte finish with the subtlest glow that makes your foundation or BB cream look even better when applying it.

My friend Blair is also a fan of the Magic Cream and I love that she layers the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter Primer & Highlighter over it as I own that product (in Shade 1) and will definitely be trying the combo of the two in the near future!

Dior Addict Stellar Shine Lipstick in Shade 260 ‘Mirage’.

This part lip balm part lipstick part lip gloss is probably my favorite thing I picked up. After applying this I couldn’t believe how healthy my lips looked instantly. It has a sheer feeling texture and glides on so easily and the shade I selected is the perfect daytime pink-y nude. Lips look instantly more smooth and radiant yet with a healthy glow and sheer wash of shiny color that actually lasts. I haven’t stopped reaching for this ever since I first tested it. My dry lips are super picky about lip colors and this passed my test with flying colors. It’s also what I’m wearing on my lips in these photos!

Dior Addict Stellar Halo Shine Lipstick in Shade 385 ‘Cherish Star’.

Similar to the above, this lipstick also delivers major shine but with a bit more 90s vibe thanks to its holographic finish. The color is a bit more shimmery making it a great option for summer evenings. What I love about both of the Dior lipsticks is that they don’t feel like wearing lipsticks. They definitely wear more like a hydrating, super smooth, lightweight & sheer balm. If I had to chose between the two however I’d go with the Stellar Shine in Mirage as it is a more wearable daytime lipstick.

Giorgio Armani Neo Nude Compact.

You guys know that Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation is holy grail for me by now (it is what I almost always wear when shooting photos – I wear shade 4.5) so I was curious to try their new Neo Nude Compact powders. I bought shade 2 and was super impressed with the subtly glow-y yet sheer coverage it provided. This is a great powder for summer as it is super lightweight on. It is also ideal for no makeup / makeup days. You could honestly just apply this powder to your face after moisturizer and you’ll instantly look a bit more awake and put together for any Zoom calls. It blurs pores and prevents shine while providing the tiniest bit of coverage.

Have you purchased any beauty products lately that you fell in love with? Nordstrom also has an entire section of Exclusive Beauty Products that only they carry which I had so much fun browsing. Very interested in these Dior balm/lipsticks! I love something lighter for summer since lipstick often feels heavy and too much for my summer makeup. Love these pictures as well! Gorgeous.

So want to try this powder compact! There is such a struggle for the right products for those days when you have a few Zoom calls but don’t need a full face of make up and this sounds like just the ticket!
