The Beauty Edit: February

It’s time for the latest installment of this beauty junkie’s favorite products that I’ve been testing of late! Have you guys bought a beauty product I’ve recommended recently? I’d love to hear about it! And I hope you enjoy this months’ roundup – these products have been in heavy rotation for me.

The Beauty Edit: February

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser

I am incredibly picky when it comes to the facial cleansers I use. I don’t like foaming ones (they often strip your skin of natural oils) and I prefer to dry cleanse (no water on my face before cleanser) so formula is of extra importance. Most cleansers that make it into my apartment end up being gifted to friends but this one I held onto because it sounded simple + straightforward. And guess what? I love it. It is crazy gentle and yet comforting to use. Yes, I said comforting haha.

I just love its texture – it’s a cream gel of sorts. It’s got apricot and avocado oils in it, too so skin never feels dry afterwards. I keep it in my shower for use after my BBG workouts. If you, too don’t like fussy cleansers, try this $20 one. A little goes a long way and I’ve barely made a dent in mine after weeks of use so the price tag is worth it.

Big Sexy Hair Volumizing & Texturing Powder

I got this hair powder after seeing my friend Merritt use it while we were traveling in Portugal together. I am constantly on the hunt for products that’ll add volume at my roots and this stuff is nothing short of magic. It liquifies from powder form as it is applied to hair and gets to work absorbing into hair to provide volume. It’s petite size makes it perfect to take when you travel and I love that it doesn’t add weight to hair and also has no smell! I section my hair at the roots and work around the crown of my head to work the product in. It is such a great little weapon if you struggle in getting volume.

NARS Mosaic Glow Blush

I’m all about the multi-purpose products in today’s Beauty Edit and this NARS one is very cool. The first time I applied it was in doing my makeup quickly before heading out to meet girlfriends for lunch and my friend immediately remarked in our Lyft: “your makeup looks so pretty!” If I get a remark like that I know a new product I just tested is doing something! I like swirling my brush into all three shades included for a super easy glow-y look that has you looking equal parts “I just went to the gym and am slightly flushed” and “I just returned from a beach holiday.” Like other NARS products, it blends super easily and is really weightless upon application. This product is limited edition so jump on it if you’re interested!

Shiseido Aura Dew for Face, Eyes & Lips in Solar

I tend to rarely do anything extra interesting when applying eye makeup but after seeing my favorite YouTuber apply this multi-use product touting it as a favorite product of hers from 2018, I was super intrigued. And the verdict? It is gorgeous. You tap your finger onto the sparkly cushion and delicately apply this powder to your eyes, lips or face. But I’m partial to adding it to my eyes for instant intrigue.  I am definitely going to try it as a cheek highlighter, too as seriously this Solar color is one of the prettiest shimmers I’ve ever seen in a makeup product. (And I have a drawer full of highlighters – ha!) If you watch the Sephora video for the product I think it clearly shows how it adds such a subtle, pretty glow where used.
