The scoop on Benefit Cosmetics’ Newest Products: Girl Meets Peal, Prrrowl and Magic Ink

October 10, 2010

This post is so overdue, but still worthwhile if you haven’t yet tried Benefit Cosmetics’ three newest products. Benefit invited bloggers in San Francisco to get together at their Chestnut street location to have their three latest genius little beautifiers, Girl Meets Pearl, Magic Ink, and Prrrowl, revealed.

Annie Ford Danielson, who is behind the Scene Queen kit that I love, and Global Makeup Trend Artist for the beloved Benefit brand, was on hand to introduce the new products, demo them on a lucky attendee and chat with blogger in attendance.

Girl Meets Pearl is a liquid pearl dew that is added to the face for a natural looking glow and I’ve been using it every day since receiving my sample at the Benefit bash. Just add it to your daily moisturizer and mix it in your palm before applying to your face and voila…a luxurious, lit-from-within glow instantly.

I still have a hard time putting on any liquid liner well (any pointers welcome!), but Benefit’s Magic Ink leaves a “black patent” shine that made it worth the wait (if you know Benefit you know this is the first time they’ve ever offered a liquid liner). It’s super long-lasting as well and very sleek.

Prrrowl is a 2:1 product that offers both an iridescent mascara topcoat and a shimmering lip gloss. I’ll admit this one I have used the least as the lip gloss is too iridescent for my taste and my skin tone,  but others I know really like it. The topcoat is said to offer a “peacock” blue color over your normal mascara, but it’s very hard to see. It’s more glitter than anything else so again, not wearing it too much.

Annie Ford Danielson introduced the new products herself. She also shared with me that the products she couldn’t live without are Benetint and Speed Brow.

Jeannine of The Coveted, Natalie of Like Fresh Laundry, Yuri of Lookbook.nu, Erin of Benefit and I get our “flare” on.

Favorite of mine, Polyvore, was on hand to make sets inspired by what all us bloggers were wearing at the event.

Andrea and I with some of our favorite SF bloggers.

Yummy snacks and cocktails were also served. Leave it to Benefit to have all the perfect details included!

Love all these pics and I can’t believe I haven’t commented on this post yet! The event seems like so long ago now. We’ll have to get together for drinks sometime soon!
