Casual Winter Outfit I wit & whimsy

Casual Winter Outfit I wit & whimsy

Nowadays more than ever  my winter uniform is a sweater and jeans. I’ve been practically living in this sweater since I got it just before the holidays. I love the ever-so-slightly cropped fit, the exaggerated sleeves (without being too exaggerated) and the oh-so-soft fabric. It pairs perfectly with these high-waisted jeans because let’s be honest, sometimes a cropped top requires a high waisted please suck everything in for this 31 year old…!

And a secret I always employ when I want to look a bit more put together in a casual look? Add a hat + add a lip! I instantly feel my outfit is dressed up a bit without sacrificing style.

Easy Winter Weekend Style

Something I also realized in preparing this post (these photos were taken a couple weeks back) is that I think the snow has finally grown on me. After eight years in California when I moved to New York adjusting to winter was, let’s say, rough. But nowadays I revel in the seasons and when New York is covered in soft flakes and suddenly quiets…there’s nothing like it. I’m now finding myself secretly hoping for a bit more snow before Spring rolls around ;).

Hope you guys are having a good week! Mine is flying by but I saw the Book of Mormon last night finally and what a show…So quirky, so entertaining. And today I’m heading to Brooklyn to join WhoWhatWear for brunch. I’ll be sharing it on Instagram and Snapchat so follow along @meghandono if you’re not already!
