Covet vs. Catch: Wide Leg Black Pants

Covet vs. Catch: Wide Leg Black Pants

Sayonara, skinnys, because 2011 is the year that wide-leg pants are coming back.

This upcoming trend has me thrilled that I’m a pack rat and have kept lots of wide-legged trousers hanging in my closet. I’m also glad that these little Theory guys will get more play time!

Given that so many beautiful pants are crafted by top designers, but the fact that I so rarely wear a nice pant when it comes to work, I figured others may be in the same boat and looking for affordable alternatives…which brings us to the latest round of Covet vs. Catch.

Currently Craving: Blush tones

Ever since receiving this darling Free People dress (also able to be worn as a maxi skirt!) from Shopbop the other week, I have been dreaming of wearing it as soon as the weather warms up. It’s also had me looking at new spring arrivals longingly in the gorgeous blush tones that we’ll be seeing so much of come the new season.

Not that I haven’t already been dreaming of spring or anything…

Last September when I was attending Fashion Week for spring 2011, I was drooling over the pieces being showcased in flowing, sheer and beutiful drapery. As seen in a post on spring 2011 trends, Nanette Lepore and Vera Wang showed pieces in this gorgeous blush color.

Ladies at Fashion Week last week were also loving the tone, as seen on Mr. Newton.

I cannot wait to buy more pieces in this dreamy color. Here’s what I’m currently craving…(and let’s not forget about these darling little guys!)

Similar to the bright separates trend I blogged about last week, another part about spring fashion I’m looking forward to is mixing prints. I’ll be the first to admit it goes a bit out of my fashion comfort zone, but all the more fun to play with, right?

I used to immediately cringe when I thought pieces clashed right away, but I’m not more leaning towards the camp of playing with unexpected pieces being combined together. Fashion is supposed to be about mixing & matching after all, no?!
