Polka Dots & Velvet

October 19, 2010

H&M blouse, Uniqlo velvet skirt, Max Studio shoes, vintage clutch (my grandma’s), Michael Kors watch.

During one of my New York trips last month I had the best unexpected run-in right smack dab in the middle of Madewell in SOHO. I got to see w&w contributor, modman and blogger bff Virginia of The Lovely 20s and it was such a delightful surprise.

It also proved to lead to this little velvet skirt number as Danny informed me I was out of my mind to never heard of Uniqlo. Obviously, I clearly went straight down the street and entered this mecca of basics (Danny was, indeed, correct) and while I nearly lost my mind, I instead found restraint (where from, je ne sais pas!) and left with only this velvet paper bag skirt.

Velvet was a trend I wasn’t sure I would get on board with this season, but this skirt suits me for transitioning a favorite wardrobe element of mine (skirts) into the colder weather.

P.S. – In case you missed it, yesterday modman profiled the new coat collection from Uniqlo. So the next question is who wants to go and get me one since I am geographically challenged right now? 🙂

P.P.S. – Don’t miss our Shopbop giveaway! You could get a $100 gift card.
