Recent Fabulous Beauty Finds

November 1, 2010

I’ve had my hands full recently trying out a lot of makeup and skincare products and wanted to share some of my favorites (not so favorites can also be found below). Now go ahead and get gorgeous!

Bare Minerals All Wrapped Up eyecolor collection, $34

The shades in this festive Bare Minerals All Wrapped Upholiday gift set are to die for. They are uber-vibrant, supremely easy to use, highly pigmented and last forever (as evidenced by me and my girlfriends’ dance moves at a wedding this past weekend). Garland (a soft, shimmery gold) and Bauble (a gorgeous, smooth eggplant) are my favs of the collection and p.s. – opening this little set is seriously like opening a present – it’s wrapped beautifully!

Babor Ultra Performance Lip Color in Candy Rose, $25

Until recently, Babor was a brand I was unfamiliar with but their Candy Rose lip color is now sitting pretty in my purse every day. There’s no greasy lipstick smell that you sometimes encounter, is moisturizing with Vitamin E and amino acid complexes and the color is rich and bold. The color is perfect for nighttime or in the day when I lighten it by using Benefit’s Ultra Shine gloss in Back to the Fuchsia.

Benefit Cosmetics' Eye Bright pencil, $20

Good morning, Sunshine!! Benefit’s Eye Bright pencil is a little gift from heaven. Simply place a few strokes of this brightening formula on the outer and inner corners of your eyes and blend and you’ll instantly look more awake and refreshed (something I most desperately need on a regular basis).

BareMinerals Big & Bright Eyeliner, $14

BareMinerals’ extremely affordable Big & Bright eyeliners come in six stellar shades and glide on smoothly leading you to the perfect line. Easier than battling liquid eyeliner, these pencils are creamy and preservative free, not to mention bright and long lasting. Chocolate and Black are my shades of choice, but the Midnight hue is also really pretty.

Sephora Collection BCA Brush Set, $60

This brush kit is kind of perfect for me given my insane travel schedule. The set features brushes for face, eye and lip and comes in this snazzy, yet practical little pink walletesque kit.  The best part though? Sephora will donate $1 from the sale of this product to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Erno Laszlo Gentle Body Exfoliator, $38

This body exfoliator from Erno Laszlo is all sorts of yummy. It’s gentle on the skin, but incredibly effective. It’s hydrates while it softly removes the skin debris we all have to fight each day and is practically unscented which is a big plus for me. My skin was instantly softer and brighter.

And the not so favorites….

On my not so favorite list is Relastin’s Eye Silk which is actually a big editorial award winner (it has won Allure’sBest in Beauty award four years in a row now) however it irritated my eyelid and the skin below my eyes so much that they were itchy for over two days. Eep!

Babor’s lip gloss, too was not a favorite of mine. It was goopy and sticky and that’s pretty much everything I prefer NOT to have on my lips.
