Barneys New York x WIT & Whimsy

A few people close to me know that, when I have the luxury of a free weekend, go on what I call “Day dates with New York City.” My favorite day date? I take a free Saturday or Sunday and, completely solo, I head uptown and start my day at the Met. I see whatever special exhibits are present and the Impressionist paintings (a can’t miss for me on every visit) and if it’s the right weather, I pop up to the roof and take in the view that never quite gets old. Then I head further up Park Avenue, grab a coffee and around 96th street and Madison Avenue I commence my stroll downtown. I pop into favorite stores like Joie, admire the darling windows of the children’s clothier shops and then end my walk some 40 blocks south at Barneys.

Barneys has always been such a landmark for me in New York City. The clean and beautiful aesthetic of the way everything is merchandised, the perfectly edited designer selections, the amazing salads (and people/celeb watching!) at Fred’s…everything about the shopping experience is perfection in my mind. Which is why it’s hard to put into words how honored I am to be featured on The Window on Barneys’ website this week.

Many, many thanks to Barneys New York for having me!

Congrats on your feature! Barney’s is such a cool store no doubt about it! Your ‘day dates’ sound just like me and my pup, when my hubby is away for work – except I date SF 🙂
