Fall is one of my favorite seasons in New York so naturally I am already looking forward to September. As I’ve spoken about in the past on this blog, over the past couple of years I have looked to quality over quantity when it comes to my wardrobe. I’ve found I wear certain pieces so much more when they are well made and I’ve spent money on them. The investment has always paid off for me and I get to wear things for years rather than months.

In this spirit I wanted to share some personal favorite investment pieces of mine and also some future ones I plan to make with the changing of the seasons. Hope you find it helpful! 

Live-in Denim: I swear by Rag & Bone denim. I instantly feel a bit more tucked in, they don’t stretch too much like other denim brands and the wear well. Their “The Skinny Jean” are my favorite pair. Second favorite are these – I wear them almost every time I travel.

Wear With Everything Boots: My love for the Rag & Bone Newbury boots have been well documented on this blog but I am preaching again today. I can’t stress how comfortable they are. Instead of buying 5 pairs of boots that you’ll end up chucking when Spring has sprung, invest in these and thank me after you see how many ways they can be worn and how many miles can be walked in them.

Get a Statement Coat: Have a good coat in your possession that doesn’t make you feel drab or like you’re hiding. A coat with good details goes a long way when you’re facing a long winter. I absolutely love this one with leather sleeves from Vince. This one is a great alternative as well for much less.

Have the Perfect Layering Piece: If you’re like me you live for layering in the fall so I stock up on black tanks and camis that can have sweaters and jackets draped over them. The Tibi ones are my favorite and I love the high neckline on this one.

Have Go-To Neutral Flats: This pair by Tory Burch stand out just enough while being neutral and able to be paired with loads of outfits. I also adore these that bring just the right touch of edge to any ensemble.

Invest in a Timeless Bag: Buy a bag that you’ll never get sick of and that you’ll love carrying no matter what you’re wearing. I love my Sophie Hulme bag for its classic shape but this tote is so sleek and yet feminine. And Sophie does the best hardware around, let’s be honest.

Have a “You” Piece of Jewelry: My friend Bridget always wears an initial ring and I love how it’s always on her hand. It’s very “her” and I think every girl should have a piece of jewelry that they never want to leave home without. I think Vita Fede’s piece are timeless and this double crystal band ring has just enough elegance with a hint of edge.
