Dressing for Work in the Summer

black, red + white I wit & whimsy

You know those pieces in your closet that you always end up picking out when you feel like you have nothing to wear? Those are what I always refer to as closet MVPs. I buy them in multiple colors if warranted. I’ve outlined my must-have investment pieces before and a silk tank is essential in any girls wardrobe. I personally love this one from Joie (I have it in both black and sage) because its weight and raceback design. It’s feminine but doesn’t wrinkle a ton like a lot of other silk tanks I’ve tried from Madewell or the likes. This feature also makes it clutch for packing purposes.

This tank is so good that both my roommates bought it recently!

I first wore this skirt in this post and I wore this outfit to work followed by seeing The King & I the other week! For warmer New York weather it’s dressed up without being too casual (when worn without the denim jacket). I think the skirt looks so much more expensive than Banana Republic, doesn’t it?

I hope you had a great weekend. The highlight of mine was celebrating turning 30 with some of my favorite New York friends at a local bar in my ‘hood. It was the perfect low-key night getting to catch up with so many people I love.
