Oh, Paris. You get me every time.

If I had a magic wand, I’d grant wishes to everyone who needed some magic in their life a ticket to Paris. So they could marvel at the grandeur. Delight in the charm. Witness the beauty.

Each time I go to Paris I am reminded of what the city means to me. It has helped shape some of my most distinct memories of courage and perseverance. It provides me with a mental clarity I can’t seem to quite replicate elsewhere. It inspires me to want to work harder, pursue more passions and live more purposefully.

This past trip was of particular significance and I’ll share more on that in the coming months but in short, Paris gives me perspective.

I mentioned in this post, that this most recent visit had no specific agenda. I had spots I wanted to see and a few meetings to attend but other than that I woke up every morning with the intention of seeing where the day would take me. What surprises the city could unfold for me. There really is nowhere like Paris to just walk, discover and marvel.

So many people commented to me just how happy I seem whenever I’m in Paris. Truthfully, a piece of me wants to move there for a period of time because what people witness is true: I feel at my personal best while in the city of lights. But what I’ve come to realize is that I can bring that spirit and sentiment back with me to New York. Delighting in getting lost, remembering to find happiness in the little things, practicing being more compassionate, rush less and enjoy more. Happy to report it’s been working rather well since my return 🙂

Truly…la vie en rose.
