It’s a public garden up in the Bronx (way up…242nd street!) and it turns out it is rather stunning in the Fall. It was so nice to enjoy the beautiful 60 degree temperatures, take in the fall foliage and spend time catching up with Taylor. I also hit up an old standby, Malatesta, this weekend and started binge watching The Crown on Netflix – anyone else watch it this weekend!? Let’s discuss…

This outfit is very similar to much of what I’ll wear this time of year when trying to re-work my wardrobe. When in doubt, dress monochromatically! Grays and blacks are my favorite to mix and match and there’s nothing quite like the juxtaposition of cozy cashmere with a pair of your favorite worn-in jeans. I’ve had this pair for over five years and they remain my favorites because they just get better with age and the dark gray-ish hue goes so well with so much of my closet. The key to monochromatic dressing is layering and mixing up various shades of pieces in your closet that are in the same color family. Another good option is white/ivory/camel.

This sweater I have in black, too and was one of the best investments I ever made. The fit is fantastic, it tucks well and is so warm! I wear these sweaters layered, with skirts, dressed down with jeans and even with leggings around the house. The quality justifies the price and given how I often I wear them, they were worth the splurge.

This time of year I  try to shop a lot less to make way for holiday gifts so you’ll likely be seeing me re-wearing a lot of these more quality investment pieces I’ve bought over the years. And if you like the look of my booties (also had those for over four years and wear constantly!), I found a less expensive pair with the exact same shape!

Have a great Monday you guys and pop by tomorrow for Part II of my Ireland trip!
