Do you Polyvore?

May 7, 2009

So we have a new addiction and it’s called Polyvore. No, it’s not a drug or new energy drink of sorts. But rather a totally entertaining and way fun way to collage online. (Our fab friend over at The Jennifer Beautiful Me Show introduced it to us a bit ago on her blog, but we only just got the chance to check it out!)

Polyvore is a free application for mixing and matching images from anywhere on the web. Basically, the site lets you create “sets” composed of individual images. Images range from accessories and clothes to backgrounds and fonts.

What’s the point you may ask? Well, there isn’t a huge driver of value, but if you’re someone who needs to see things visually and want some inspiration, Polyvore is for you. The addicting part comes in when you decide the various fashion ensembles (like the one we put together shown here) you must have! Ah, if only we could buy the incredible Fendi strappy sandals with our hundreds upon hundreds of dollars laying around! Le sigh.

Think you’re the only one who’d enjoy a tool like Polyvore? Think again! Polyvore has:

  • 3 million unique visitors per month
  • 118 million monthly page views
  • 650,000 registered users
Head to their site & create your own unique look and then send us the link to witwhimsy@gmail.com! We’ll feature the best ones we get right here on WIT & Whimsy! Can’t wait to see what you all come up with!

  1. Love this post Miss Wit & Whimsy, we are big Polyvore fans *despite* our lack of skill! (Our user name is The Preppy Princess.)

In fact, yesterday’s blog post focused on a Polyvore contest one of our favorite bloggers has going on her blog. She wanted readers to put together a first date outfit.

Love your blog! Have a splendid day!
