When planning my trip to Portugal I mentioned it to my friend Blair who proceeded to tell me about a village she’d seen on Pinterest with loads of colorful striped houses. Upon researching it and finding it was a quick trip from Porto in Northern Portugal, we immediately added it to our itinerary.
This sleepy fishing town is bursting with character thanks to the colorful and striped houses that truly are all around town and I couldn’t help but smile as we walked around looking at each of them.
If you’re visiting Porto, Portugal Costa Nova is an easy day trip nearby. Take the train to Aveiro (about 35 minutes) and then hop in a taxi to Costa Nova where you’ll be charmed by this tiny beach town. All the bright + colorful homes are worth a gander and the beach is beautiful and quiet as well. While we didn’t luck out with an overly sunny day, if you happen to arrive with the weather gods on your side the beach is well worth spending time on. Before heading back to Porto we grabbed lunch at Bronze Seafood & Lounge Bar which was delicious (don’t miss the ham + cheese toast!)
If I had my pick…I think I’d choose a yellow striped house…what about you!?
Dress (I love this brand) // Sandals // Straw Bag // Sunglasses
p.s. a day in Lisbon’s Belem and pretty blue + white scenes around Portugal.

This place looks SO cute! Definitely bookmarking this for when I get back to Portugal.
