Hands down my favorite day every Fall is when I go apple picking with friends. Getting out of the city, picking out an outfit, eating spiced doughnuts and drinking cider, capturing loads of photos and making new memories is always something I look forward to.
While I grew up in a place with four seasons (Chicago), I also spent eight years in California where I never really had a proper Fall or Winter. So when I moved to New York from San Francisco one of the things I was most excited about was the return to a proper Fall season. I’m a broken record at this point, but it really is my favorite season by a landslide.
Nearly every single occasion that I’ve been doing my annual apple picking trip for the eight Autumns I’ve lived in New York, I have donned a Barbour jacket. It’s part of my Fall uniform for this special day every season and as my collection of Barbour coats has grown, I have loved making more Fall memories in them.
Barbour 125th anniversary
This year, Barbour turned 125 and in honor of the anniversary and the five generations they’ve been a family run business, they released a limited edition collection of iconic jackets known as Icons Re-engineered. The collection of jackets represent the brand’s birth of waxed cotton, birth of Barbour International, birth of countrywear, birth of the quilted jacket and the modern face of Barbour. And they are truly beautiful limited edition jackets.
I’m wearing their Icons Durham Waterproof Hooded Raincoat in this post and I couldn’t love this versatile jacket more. The detailing on it make it so special. Everything from the brass snaps, the tartan-lined hood and the pleat shaping on the back. When I shared a snap from the apple orchard this day on Instagram stories I couldn’t believe how many people asked after the jacket – many saying “I’ve been looking for a jacket just like that!” Look no further because this waterproof jacket is just as stylish as it is functional. I know I will wear this jacket forever. And that’s one of the things I love most about Barbour jackets – they truly never go out of style.
You can see more of my Barbour looks from the past several years here, here, here & here and if you’re looking for a fun little read, see more about Barbour’s history here.
Happy anniversary, Barbour! Here’s to more memories in the iconic jackets for many years to come.

I love that jacket! I’ve been looking for something versatile for travel – nice enough that it could work for dinner/drinks, but something that will actually protect you from the elements if you’re out and about.
Totally fits the bill! I love that it stylish but practical thanks to the hood / rainproofing!
