Ah, Fall. My favorite season. I love getting back to layering. I love boots and cozy sweaters. I love nights with red wine and watching the leaves change. I can’t wait for the season to be upon us!

Last year I had a great time putting together my Fall 2014 investment recommendations so today I’m back with suggestions for the upcoming season. Here’s a play by play…

The Perfect Pair of Pumps.

I have these Madewell ones and love them (worn here, here) and this season they are back in 3 gorgeous shades for this season including the beautiful green seen here as well as black and gray. Another great pump option I love are these (I have them in floral and will be purchasing in black suede because they are that good.)

A Sweater Dress.

I wore this Clu dress so much last Fall and Winter (two examples here, here.) It’s so good for transitional dressing and will definitely be in my suitcase for my Europe trip this October. This year it is back in gray but also a lovely navy and if you want a sweatshirt version they have that, too. Madewell also just brought out a great sweater dress.

A Leather Jacket.

My leather jacket was the best purchase I made last year. I wore it a ton and love it for travel and pairing over more feminine pieces like dresses. This BB Dakota jacket carries less sticker shock than lots of versions and is great quality. It also comes in a beautiful tan color if that’s more your style.

Wear-With-Everything Boots.

I have these boots and they are perfection. A just-right heel height makes them great for walking around and can be easily styled with dresses and jeans. They were my go-tos for travel and come in both black and cognac. They break in easily and wear well so they are worth the investment. Styled previously here.

A Modern Trench Coat.

Don’t schlep in the rain. Look stylish in the rain by upping your coat game with a modern trench. This one is a worthwhile price point, available in navy, tan and olive and has the cutest swing cut on it. I love it for its short shape and how it pairs with either rain boots or booties.
