The May Beauty Edit

By the skin of my teeth I’m here with The May Beauty Edit (it’s June on Wednesday – whhhhhat!?) I had put this together weeks ago but then hadn’t finished it abroad as I had hoped. Nevertheless I hope you’ll enjoy & that you’re having a great long weekend!

Malin + Goetz Peppermint Shampoo

This shampoo is like minty heaven to use in the shower. It smells divine and is so tingly and cool feeling. So perfect for summer time and does the trick of balancing, cleaning and clarifying no matter your hair type. It also has olive oil meaning your hair is left shiny and soft. Of note, that if you like peppermint, the body scrub is also so incredible. See more Malin + Goetz products here.

Stila Aqua Glow Watercolor Blush

This is my favorite blush (so much so I now have it in two colors.) It’s so lightweight and because it is water-based and oil free, it gives you the softest, sheerest wash that results in a really pretty daytime healthy-looking glow. Your skin looks more dewy and it is easy to blend seamlessly so you’re not left with any streaks or that caked-on blush effect. I combo it by putting this on the apples of my cheeks and this blendable color on my cheek bones.

Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide

This is my go-to daily face makeup these days. I love most of Laura Mercier’s products and unless I am shooting, I like to wear something more lightweight on my face that doesn’t look like I’m wearing a lot of makeup. This Flawless Fluide is oil free and was specifically formulated to enhance how your real skin looks. You don’t have to blend it much but do remember to shake it up well before putting it on so that the pigments get activated.

Tata Harper Purifying Mask

I use a lot of Tata’s skincare products because they are effective as well as good for you. Her entire line is organic, nontoxic and natural. Her purifying mask is great for when your skin needs to be detoxified. If you live in a big city where pollution is a major problem, you’ll want to try this mask. The mask was specifically developed to address chemical and toxic pollutants that we are exposed to (that prematurely age skin – yikes!) and it works to cleanse and detoxify. I particularly love this mask for summer because you rinse it off with cold water and you’re left feeling oh-so-fresh faced.

EcoTools Makeup Brush Shampoo

I don’t know about you but washing my makeup brushes always seems like such a task. Because of this I didn’t do it as often as I knew I should until the EcoTools makeup brush shampoo came my way. It makes the ordeal seem so much easier because you just squirt on the shampoo that’s been formulated for this exact purpose (unlike the regular soap I used to apply to clean my brushes) and every last bit of makeup comes off in an easy washing session.

Pixi Glowtion Day Dew

Ooo is this stuff great for no-makeup days. It makes your skin look super hydrated and have that lit-from-within look. It nourishes, soothes and if ever your skin feels dull – this is the key to fixing that. You’ll instantly have more radiant skin that is more even and appears healthier. And if you’re like me and have sensitive skin, you’ll love the lavender in this that soothes. I wear it often on weekends when I am running errands and not applying any makeup.

Glossier Boy Brow

So I used to swear by the Benefit Cosmetics brow gel product until all I kept hearing about was Glossier’s Boy Brow. It has cult-like status in New York because of its ability to make your brows look super on point. It thickens, fills in and grooms all in a few swipes. It doesn’t clump up but rather has a soft, flexible hold because of its creamy wax formula. If you don’t pay attention to your brows, you may be majorly missing out on opening up  your face, making your eyes appear brighter and much more.
