The Beauty Edit - Skincare Empties

I always love when people share their #beautyempties on Instagram so for this month’s Beauty Edit I thought it would be fun to share some of my skincare products that have recently been good to the last drop!

I try a lot of products out and it is rare that I empty something out so you know when I do they are really, really G-O-O-D.

The Beauty Edit – Skincare Empties

Darphin Intral Redness Relief Serum:

I have sensitive skin that is often prone to redness so when I found a super lightweight serum (its consistency is that of water) that helped to soothe my skin and reduce redness, you better believe I was hooked. I have written about this serum before here and this is the second bottle of this stuff that I’ve finished. In fact, I use this pretty much every morning before applying moisturizer. But find that it is particularly great if your skin is feeling extra dry, irritated or experiencing breakouts. It’ll soothe and calm skin pretty instantly.

Shiseido Future Solution LX Ultimate Regenerating Serum:

Oh gosh is this stuff precious. I fell in love with the entire Future Solution LX last year and was lucky enough to partner with Shiseido to promote it. It’s not often that I love every product in a line but this is an exception and the serum is particularly great. (I’m also already onto my second jar of the night cream and I use the eye cream constantly!) The entire line smells like heaven. Like, so good that I get excited using the products because I love the smell so much. But I digress…back to this serum.

The serum is like liquid gold. When used regularly my skin feels so much more firm and plump. My fine lines are less noticeable and my face looks more awake. I used it every night as one of my several serums and shed a small tear when it ran out because yes, it is expensive. But this whole line really works so I’ve justified the cost.

BeautyRx Essential 8% Exfoliating Serum:

You guys have heard me talk about the power of glycolic a lot before (here, here, here) and this serum is my go-to. Glycolic comes in a variety of percentages over the counter and 8% is considered a starter strength which suits my sensitive skin. In fact, Glycolic is what I recommend to any of my girlfriends who aren’t happy with their skin because it does so much. Glycolic effectively removes your top layer of dead skin cells that often clog your pores and don’t allow your other products to penetrate. By using glycolic regularly you can get more even-toned skin and more glowy skin.

The reason I love this serum so much is because the texture is crazy silky and not sticky. I’ve tried other glycolics like the Drunk Elephant one and have found them to be tacky upon application which makes layering other products or makeup difficult. The BeautyRx one is much more smooth and I absolutely rely on this and even take it with me when I’m traveling.

Kate Somerville Exfolikate:

This is one of my most time-tested and beloved beauty products. I’ve been using it for nearly nine years at this point I think?! I always recommend people buy it particularly if they suffer from breakouts because it really helps clear up any of my chin breakouts when I get them and it can be used on the body if you ever experience chest or back breakouts. The formula goes to work in just one use and I keep it in my shower for whenever my skin is feeling meh or out of control. It is holy grail status for me and a best-selling skincare product for good reason. Pores are deep cleaned and skin is brighter and smoother immediately after use thanks to the various enzymes and lactic acid in the formula. You cannot go wrong having this in your arsenal.

One Love Organics Vitamin C Serum:

In addition to always recommending glycolic to my girlfriends wanting to improve their skin, I always tell them to add a Vitamin C serum as well. It’s great at protecting your skin and also assists in brightening your skin. And while I will admit that the SkinCeuticals CE Freulic serum remains my #1 Vitamin C serum, this organic one I thought was great and is a better price, too. Better yet? It beats out SkinCeuticals in the smell category. A lot of Vitamin C serums have an almost burnt smell to them and this one from One Love Organics only has a very faint smell. It makes it great for daytime wear.

Malaya Organics Citrus + Bloom Body Oil:

This product made me a believer in body products. (I’m so bad at remembering to apply them post-shower! But I’m getting better.) It’s the loveliest scent and the perfect weight. Even better is that it absorbs SUPER fast and won’t leave you feeling slick at all. The brand’s face oil is amazing also and I spoke about it more in depth here.

Mario Badescu Botanical Exfoliating Scrub:

While I am usually more of a fan of chemical exfoliation vs. physical, this affordable face scrub is great. Ever experiencing any sort of flaking on your face? This will be particularly great for you. I get flaky skin on my nose and chin and this usually handles it in one use while still being gentle. Your skin will be brighter and less dull  after using it and super soft, too thanks to the coconut and aloe in the formula.

ExfoliKate is HG for me too! I just started using a night acid and morning vitamin C so I’m looking forward to results. Might have to try that Darphin serum for my redness! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
